Cutting out and not starting again!!!?

third time my FD ahs cust out and not started.......( not sure whether plugs OR Compression are an issue?

I\'ve had my Fd now about a year. when i first got the car I has a full service (inc plugs) and got compression checked....I was told that the figures were the highest this garage had ever seen (rotechniks)...I was then informed that this is due to the engine being a new mazda block not a reman\' engine......Chuffed!!!!!:D

Started modding my rx got a PFC, hks induction, Trust down pipe, blitz exhaust, midsection, 850cc primaries, APexi BNR33 fuel pump....all ready for the FMIC and mapping.


Question:.....What are the signs of a rebuild being needed?
                     Can my compression have gotten so low already?
                     The car always starts on a tow start but nothing else will get it going...could this be due to the fuel pump?...Have heard some stories about fuel pickup......even though it has only happened 3 times( last being about 30 mins ago:reallymad ) it always happens when i have about 1/4 tank for fuel.

Hi Ed,

Although you had your car compression tested last year l would now advise getting it checked again ASAP, sorry but it has the symptoms of a low comp engine.

But i\'ve been modding senisbly and in the right order surely a rebuild is not on the cards already:( ?

PS changed my oil from 10/50 to 10/40 and got a bit of yellow gunk on my filler cap.

it was compression...so went off to be rebuilt

ok, I think.... I havent been able to drive the car... been busy trying to get the garage sorted so I can store the car away from the pikeys!

Mate, I would suggest go to Powergains motorsports and they will surely sort this problem out for you.

Spark plugs could be fouled. Or you could of flooded it. Try I flooding it Edd.
Worse case new plugs :chat
