I\'m *still* ploughing through this swap inbetween spare moments and it occured to me, one piece I never bought was a starter motor...

Are the auto ones compatible with the manual box/flywheel or do I need to buy another?

Im guessing I need to buy another but worth asking just in case ;)

grinder

Not sure if i have spoken to you about this before .. what series car are you doing it to , and is there anything wrong with the auto box you are removing

and as far as the instructions i have read , you dont need to swap the starter out

YEah we have spoken. Mine is an S4 auto and you want an S5 box. I\'ve already pulled the transmission (pain in the arse!) Just trying to get a more powerful impact gun to get that 54mm flywheel bolt off.

I\'ll have pretty much all the auto stuff available, box-pedals-flywheel-prop-torque converter... All working fine as it was driven to this location.

grinder

yeah i thought we had

how are you finding the job so far ?

HORRIBLE!!! By far the worst conversion on any car ever!!!

The gearbox had to almost be dismantled from the inside out to remove it (the torque convertor-flywheel)

What makes it hard is that its stored in a barn 70miles from my house, has no natural light or internet/3g therefore I need to be armed with everything I go each time I set off.

Removing the sludgebox was a real pain to do on my own... also the pedal box was a pain, its huge and the steering column bolts to it. Once I get the flywheel off then I can re-assemble the running gear.

Currently looks like this:

And I bought these for it..

I need a LEFT side Kouki rear light if anyone knows of one :cheers

grinder

ahhhh , the write ups dont make it sound too bad ! LOL

I\'ve done it to a Skyline, a 200SX, I\'ve swapped more beetle engine, AE86 engines, done COUNTLESS engine conversions but nothing has been a ballache like this :)

grinder
