brought a fiberglass bumper for my fd, after traveling around to A LOT of body shops in my area no body seems to be interested in fitting it :( so looks like ill be having a go myself.
i completely understand that this is very tedious and time consuming task, just wondering if anyone has an experience with fiberglass body kits and could share some useful hints and tip, maybe some recommendations on tools (other than the obvious ones), which are useful or anything which will really help :D

Many thanks!!

Heat gun will be invaluable:Thumbs-up then its just a question of patience

unwindcompletely

hmm never even considered a heat gun haha, how does it help? im guessing kind of bending / molding?

lee mills

If the shape is not quite right you can heat it up which makes it more plyable and reshape. Dont go to far with it though as youll melt it:eek:Laugh

unwindcompletely

oh wow ill go buy one tomorrow then haha!
does the heat gun mean i dont have to cut the bumper to re-shape, or is it only for small defects?

many thanks for your help lee, really appreciated!!

nadz

I know 2 people who will be able to have this done for you if want to get it done else were.

lee mills

Only really for smallish defects or maybe if the bumper has been stored badly and twisted. It just softens it up so you can push and pull it to where you want it then let it cool whilst holding it in place and it will stay there.

unwindcompletely

ahh i see thanks lee, if i have a go ill defo use your advise! anything else you might be able to share? im very worried about making cuts to reshape it then making the shape completely wrong haha!
