We run similar power levels or around 450bhp at the flywheel but I see boost sooner.

I don\'t really get a huge surge of torque, more like the NA setup where it just keeps pulling :D

Thought it was about time for an update to let you know that the project is coming along OK,

As you will see the cage, seat and belts are in along with Tein Mono Flex coil overs fitted with stronger springs than normal for these shocks all now.

Plus an Energy Suspension urethane bushing kit front and rear, with new lower arms as I don\'t want a ball joint popping out when I\'m up launching of kerbs ;)

Racing Beat roll bars, along with adjustable drop links complete the suspension, Rear Racing Brake two piece rear brakes are on, under bonnet rewiring is complete which you will see when the engine goes in.

With the body, as you will see below, the R3 rear end and nose is now finished plus extensive as is weight loss program (not me, the car :flamed)

As you will see the doors, that weighed a ton now don\'t, with perspex side windows screwed into place, plus no heater or air con that all weighs a lot as I will not rely on the heated front screen we put in this week to keep the screen clear.

Lightweight Racing Beat "race" silencer is on saving a further 35Lbs

Staggered me how much the doors weigh, there\'s even a lump of roll bar that’s been cut out of the small rear doors !

"Hopefully", funds and getting parts permitting we will be out in February "testing", I\'ll keep you posted.

p.s. the car will look different again next time when all the many stickers are on :Thumbsup!

That clutch is amazing!! Your LIM looks similar to the one on my rx4 :)

Will66

That clutch is tiny and that flywheel looks very light.  That\'s a substantial turbo though.  Are you mating the LIM to an RX8 UIM or is it going to be an REW UIM?

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

Apparently the clutch will take WAY more than I\'m going to throw at it.

Should look similar, poor old RX-4 is about to lose it\'s engine for this project (only joking :Giggle)

I think the whole assembly weighs in at just 4.5 Lbs

For the engine, I have planned out somthing different to normal but I can tell you it won\'t have pistons :Giggle

You can come and get it out of the rx4 if you want but mum and dad have 2 big Great Danes and a sheep dog guarding it, so by all means;)

No pistons, always good, looking forward to seeing this actually working!

Awesome progress ! Are you going glued in windows too ? Can\'t you get FRP doors for the Rx8 ?

Can\'t find FRP doors but I may make my own further down the road and before anyone says carbon, don\'t forget this is a budget racer :D

The front side windows are regulation 4mm thick perspex cut to size from the originals, slid up into position then 6 small black screws hold them there (not sure if you can see these in the picture).

A Naca duct will probably be fitted but if need be I can remove the passenger window if its a hot day.

No advantage in making rear side widows as they weigh just about nothing anyway.

Can you have window nets instead of plastic?

I\'m really looking forward to the final weight of the car, I wonder how close to a tonne you will get.
