Mystery sensor advice please

Hi guys.
Come across this plug today while working on an FD... not seen it before. Have compared it to another car but the sensor is not connected to the plug on the other car.

I cant seem to find where it goes.

advice as to what it is and where it lives would be good.

And would it effect starting?



Cars running stock twins with what looks like some replummed Vac
lines and standard ECU
Turbocharged 192ps RX-8 running Meth Injection on an Adaptronic
Fully Bridgeported 231ps RX-8 stripped for the Track
2nd Gen RX-7 TurboII on a GT35r (show winner)

having a look around i believe its got something to do with the Air pump, can anyon confirm?

yep its part of the air pump control valve.

Is it safe to unplug this sensor even if I am on standard ECU?
