Hi everybody! I\'m Chaz and I live in Aberdeenshire. I don\'t actually own a rotary yet, looking to get an RX7 FD around springtime, I have to try sell my current car to get funds together. I\'ll be sure to keep an eye out for something on here which catches my eye.

Ideally I would be looking for something around the 350 (ish) bhp mark in black that\'s had a rebuild at some point preferably. I have a few questions, if someone could help that would be awesome.

Reading up it seems it\'s pretty standard to look at compression when buying, apart from that is there anything specific to the rotarys to look out for, like common points of corrosion?

I\'m a total noob to the rotary scene, my dad had both an FB and an FC RX7 back when I was a kid, and he has always talked fondly about the rotary engines, so I\'ve always been curious about them and now that I\'m older and understand the principles behind it working it\'s an engineering marvel in my eyes!

Well that\'s my long winded introduction, hope I didn\'t bore anyone too much and any advice anyone has to offer is appreciated. Hopefully I\'ll be the proud owner of an FD in a few months!

Mate, welcome to MRC and all that jaz, I would say compression is not always the indicator of a good car, rather it\'s a contributory factor in finding a good car.

There are variety of cars available for sale and you should look arround in For Sale section.

Hope you enjoy your future rotary

Cool, thanks I\'ll keep that in mind when looking. Yeah I\'ve been trolling the for sale section for around a week now, unfortunately I don\'t have cash just yet, have to sell my car first. Should be able to pull about 8k together so kinda hoping to get something that someones spent some cash on so I don\'t have to. There\'s not really a rotary specialist up here so the engine condition is probably my main priority.

Thanks :) I\'m hoping so cos I\'ll probably be relying on the knowledge of you veterans until I build up a reasonable knowledge about the rotary engine, I need to learn the differences from a "normal" engine. Rotary is such an awesome concept, it\'s a shame it\'s dying out
