RX-4 race car for sale

1973 RX-4 coupe 13b
Taxed and Tested. Fully road legal
Very rare. One of only 4 UK licensed cars.
Built to compete in CTCRC Group 1/Post Historic championships, but lack of funds has resulted in it being just used on the road and on a couple of track days.

Bodywork
6 point roll cage with diaganol.
All panels are steel production items.
All glass is retained.
Internal door panels are standard and windows wind-up.

Suspension & Steering
Steering: Mazda steering box.
Front: Koni struts with race springs. Adjustable top mounts and platforms. Racing Beat anti-roll bar spacer plates.
Rear: Koni dampers. Poly bushes all round. Anti-tramp bars

Brakes
Front: ventilated disc, MX-6 calipers
Rear: solid discs and RX-7 calipers
Willwood 1" master cylinder

Engine
13B standard ported, with single Dellorto 48DHLA . Tubular manifold and free flow exhaust but quiet, 98db track day not a problem.

Transmission
7.25" tilton clutch.
5 speed mazda gearbox, with MX-5 internals.
4.7 Limited slip differential in standard production axle casing

Tyres/Wheels
Dunlop D84J 185x60 13" on 6" TWR rims.

A shame your selling it Ray. I think the price is a very good one too, having been a passenger in this car for a blast over to Pips I can honestly say it is an exciting car to be in. With only a naturally aspirated 13B producing somewhere in the region of 140 HP it is quicker than most would believe before actually being in the car.

One thing Ray showed to me which I wouldn\'t have believed is that after our 15min hard driving Ray opened the bonnet and said touch the carb, so I did and to my amazement it was freezing!!

This car opened my eyes to having more respect to NA rotaries, and for something with such small ports can be rapped all the way to 8500rpm.

It\'s never been on a dyno, but the Dellorto does give brilliant mid-range. I\'d say 140 whp is about right. Racing beat don\'t have it listed any more, but there is some info on the Dellorto at http://www.gruntled.com/Dellorto/catalog.html . I relied heavily on this site when I originally set it up.
