How long should it take roughly to fully burp all the air out of a fd?

The only reason i ask is my coolant buzzer keeps going off so i drained the system. Took the hose off back of TB and filled slowly till coolant ran out of disconnected hose.

Attached and ran them topped up loss of coolant.

Then decided to burp the system as buzzer was still going off. No bubbles surfaced during burping yet buzzer still continued to sound. I didnt have to add very much coolant at all.

Any suggestions as to possible causes?

cheers

you did have the heater switch inside the car to hot when you were doing it?

yeah i did, but only realised half way through.

would it make a difference if the expansion bottle had too much coolant in? or if the ast was too full of coolant?

there are no cooling issues. idles and runs in the mid 80\'s

Refills system via vacuum when cold from expansion bottle so will make no difference....i\'ve been doing this a lot lately have refilled and flushed my system 3 times in as many weeks.

Has taken me 3 heat cycles to fully bleed. Get her hot and wait til about 60 deg c and you can remove both cap and refill and close and heat up again.
( use a rag).
I put a funnel in when cold and had easy litre of water above and ran with cap off burping top/bot hose ( watch out for spinning pulleys). This will also double up as a champayne test. Lots of tinybubbles come out and drops a cup full. Has taken me 3 cycles and i dont use any after.

also remove small pipe from ast cap overflow to expansion. None should come out.....bad cap if it is...( mx5 fits for quick test).  Check rad for wetness, check hoses for leaks and witness hole on water pump, Footwells dry, not wet

good luck mine is water tight just getting too hot when i use the loud pedal...startin to peez me off now.

Is there a low buzzer warning for the power steering fluid level?

Its just i found what looks similar to the low coolant sensor in the top of the power steering pump. Could this affect it?
