aundre-3000

Not sure mate thanks for the offer il let you now if i need one

What ones the three spokes or the rays? The three spokes are for sale if your intrested

turbointhebrain

with regards to the lights behind the dials, it probably a bulb out. you\'ll need to remove the cluster from the dash and i think the bulbs are in a twist lock holder. you should be able to get them from you local motor factors

sounds like too much hard work for me il leave it as it is haha

as it was the nicest day we\'ve had in a while today i thought id clean the ms01\'s and polish the lips now hopefully most of the nasty weather had gone away il get them back on in the next week

before

after

there\'s quite a big difference its just a pain to polish between the wheel bolts but there\'s no point in taking them all apart so it will do for now

im looking for some new pads and discs soon any recommendations?

pads wise ive been looking to get carbone lorraine rc5\'s but finding the proper fitment seems to be a pain im not sure if they even do fc pads but alot of people have said they are rather awesome.
discs wise i have no idea ive seen the black diamond ones but the do seem pricey.

what pads/disc combo are you guys running.

B.Martin

Looks good, get some pics when fitted :)

aundre-3000

riiiight with japfest coming up ive desided to get the car sorted but i aint got long so will be busy for the next month:Thumbs-up

been busy buying new pads and discs along with some bits for a good service

brakes wise i got some brembo discs for the front and rears for quite a good price from ap brake discs
the price of black diamond and ebc stuff was stupidly priced compared to the brembo ones and tbh ebc hasn\'t got the best rep

pads wise i got some mintex ones for the rear and some carbone lorraine
rc5+ pads for the front been hearing good things
about them and the apparently for the price they are awesome so il let you now how they are

service wise i\'m just going for a oil change, plugs, trans fluid and coolant flush

so next week the pads and discs will be going on which reminds
me that the car is leaking fluid again from where the handbrake cable enters the caliper

other than that last thing to do would be to lower the rear and sort the rust out on the rear arches il get a pic tmorow of the rust its got
rather bad over the winter

aundre-3000

so got some pics of the rust that badly needs addressing

as you can see not great :(

plus just got a pic confirming that the caliper is leaking again

on another note was a lovely day in south wales and decided to go out
with my uncle green laning with the bonkas 4x4 club was a awesome day
and im already looking for a 4x4 i wont be selling the rx for one thou haha

Nice to see some of the random stickers I put on it survived! Glad to see it\'s still being loved, I miss this car. Get the rust sorted when you can, I always thought it was the only real thing letting the car down. This car was always good to me :)

Have you tried whacking (nicely :Hammer) the dash above the dials? I think the lights on the bottom corner went out once or twice when I had it and some good \'percussive maintenance\' sorted it!

flatout

haha great post, love the pics love the look of your car, tip from me to you do,  dont underseal it,

hi mate was you the guy who took it around combe that i pmd on driftworks a while ago

yeah it will be getting done soon hopefully before japfest

they are ok now but if it happens again il give it a whack haha

aundre-3000

update timeeeee

only 8 days till japfest and got quite a bit to do heres the list

change the pads and discs
oil change/filter
change the transmission fluid
flush the coolant
sort the arches out
get the alignment done
swap the wheels and tires over

ive just done the oil change so thats done

but ive been having huge problems with getting the discs off the hub
started last week got the caliper off etc but to the screws out but
even when i was hitting  it with a sledge hammer it wouldn\'t
come off next up we got a blow torch and heated it up and it still wouldn\'t come off
so in the end we gave up on that put the disc back on the car so i could at least drive the car

after that i decided to fix the leaking rear caliper turns out it was the seal on the hand brake mechanism as you can see its fubard in the rend we just done a full rebuilt on the caliper

Timmyc

i love this car! glad shes still alive and getting treated well, looks awesome

aundre-3000

thanks mate

told you lot i would busy so i started on thursday this time we took the hub off with the disc got the sledge out again and it still wouldn\'t budge you
can see in the pic were we broke the breeze block we were hitting it so hard

next up i took it to the local garage monkeys were they had a 30 ton press
and guess what it still wouldn\'t even budge with 30 tones of pressure on it!!

gave up again and had another crack at it yesterday with a angle grinder
and it came off and tbh i\'m not surprised it wouldn\'t come off with sledge hammer heres the pics

as you can see the disc was a mess. all that was holding it in was the corrosion behind the hub are the hub was on gave it a good clean
with a wire brush and it looked like new.

so now the carbone loraine pads are in there and they are the muts nuts absolutely awesome brake super hard straight away and feel sharp as soon as you touch the brake pedal couldn\'t recommend them enough

next up i will be attacking the rear discs getting the new pads in and bleeding the whole system with some new fluid

aundre-3000

hey guys sad to say but this will be my last post for a long time not only because the cars failed its mot :( but also im joining the raf tomorrow and im starting my basic training for 9 weeks

so back to the car at the moment its sorned because its failed its mot on welding its it going to a good garage of a friend his work there is very good here\'s the web site
http://www.oldschoolengineering.co.uk/

so back to japfest i had a awesome time the car rocked was quicker than i expected passing some rx-8\'s even though im in a s4 egi

just after that i changed both rear calipers and discs

next up the lights stopped working again this time the connectors were some how just destroyed so just had 3 large connectors they worked fine i didnt get a picture unfortunately by the time realised the light was all put back together and i cba to take it all apart again haha

lastly here\'s the pictures of the rust thats getting repaired

i was toying with the idea of doing the rear subframe at the same time but i think i just going to get it on the road till i get another car and i can concentrate on all the running gear

and to top the day off i smashed my splitter coming down a hill and had to do a emergency zip tie repair

lastly i just came back for the nurburgring and its was nuts i hired a car from rsr and i cant wait to take the mazda there so im planning to go there in the next few months

aundre-3000

ohh just forgot to add the horn didnt work on the car to i had my mate re solder the cpu

best part is the mot guy didnt even test the horn haha
