How doo guys,

I changed my clutch last week but couldn\'t get it in to gear so left it till this weekend just gone to investigate.

What I find was the bearing wasnt being pulled very far so thought slave issues so I bled it a little and still nothing then a removed it checked it over and all seems ok so I \'re installed it got the wife to push the pedal while I looked thru the inspection panel and it was now moving a little bit more (I guess the slave wasn\'t seated right). I tried to move the car it went in to reverse and drove but would only go in 3rd.

Is there an adjuster on the clutch fork?? Or a way of seeing if the slave is sat right know the arm??

Cheers in advance guys

I\'m guessing this is an FD,

If the push rod is not fitted right the push-rod would just fall out and you would not get a pedal at all,

I really really hope I\'m wrong but unfortunately this sounds like the clutch fork is bent which will limit the clutch travel as you describe which is a common fault if heavy race type clutches are installed.

Normally if the fork is bent the pedal will feel like it has hit up against a stop just before the floor pan

It is an fd bud

The pedal travels all the way to the floor and I know there is please plenty travel on the fork as when putting the bearing back in it was a lot further back than it goes now.

The clutch I took off was a failed oem one and the new one is an exedy stage 1 so nothin too heavy I am going to re bleed it next weekend and go fork. There I think

Try adjusting the clutch pedal, inside the car there is a rod into the master cylinder from the clutch pedal, adjust this as per the service manual.
Failing that the master is prob u/s
V8 fd\'s rock :cool

Any links to where I can get a service manual??

Right followed the measurements and the disengagement height should be 48mm minimum mine is erm 2mm lol and thats if i push the tape in to the carpet lol

adzn2k

plan of action is going to be full bleed of the master and slave then check and adjust the pedal, i dont want to adjust the pedal before i\'m sure the fluid is sorted :D

Cheers for the help guys.

Pleased to hear it\'s not going to be the clutch fork.

I\'ve seen a braided clutch line for sale so going to get that and fit it before adjusting tthe pedal :)

philiwily

Unless someone else has adjusted the pedal it shouldn\'t need adjusted.
Someone I know had the same symptoms lately and they had fitted the friction plate the wrong way round.

adzn2k

If the plate was the wrong way round it wouldn\'t get any gear as it would be stuck on the fly :/

Also my clutch alignment tool means I can assemble the clutch off the fly and hold it all together while I fit it. I was also giving my mate an explanation on how a clutch works even telling him what happens when it\'s the wrong way lol
