Hi, im new here - I have owned 6 Subaru Turbo`s, a 996 C4 and a mitsi GTO running twin td05`s, carbon doors, hatch etc /stripped interior.

I have always wanted an FD, I was about to buy one today but I googled the exporter just minutes before making the payment and it showed the link below saying he is a well known scammer, phew !!

Does anyone know where I can source a car with the following spec -

FD3S, 360-500 bhp single turbo
Track spec, diffusers, wing, weight reduction, bucket seats, battery in boot etc
coilovers/roll cage etc.

Here`s how the scam almost went down -

Dear Mr. Rob ,

thanks your reply and info. engine is with less than 60000km and if you use with set boost oressure, you don\'t need to worry about engine blow up for more than 3-40000km.

About all the parts after you buy from us, we will supply with any kind of parts you need with NET value as our after service care to the buyers. of course we can sorce ourselves and also if you find any from internet, we will purchase then send it to you with net price without any our profit. we hope thats would be some help for you.

yes we will do fully maintenance with changing all liquids before shipping so it will never happen like GTO which you bought before, don\'t worry. the reason owner decided to sell this, its because of money flow problem happened with him and decide. he is really wanting to keep on driving this of course even now. so its not the cause of troubles or problems happened to the car, don\'t worry.

as we gave you price of JPY650000C&F is under condition of making deal with quickly but we understood you need to spend much more money for importing. So we will reduce JPY50000 from JPY650000C&F and will supply this with JPY600000C&F as our bottome price, how does this price sounds to you? we hope this offer will make you a bit confortable to decide.

we wish we can get reply from you soon.

Best regards

Thank you Akio,

Portsmouth or Southampton would be best locations for me.

This is a concern for me, I believe the Car will need an engine rebuild here in the UK shortly after importing and this will cost me approximately 249,616.28 JPY.

I bought the GTO (attached) in 2003 and it came over in very poor condition, no engine/diff/transfer case fluid and it was very expensive to put in working order â€" it had the SARD wing like this RX7 

In addition I will also have to pay UK duty/tax to the Government here for importing, I am concerned about why someone in Japan would spend so much money building a car only to sell it so soon afterwards.

Also, we have not done business before and it appears that I have no guarantee of actually receiving the vehicle.

These are my concerns, I need to consider the decision and I will come back to you shortly â€" thank you for giving me your time so far.

Dear Mr. Rob,

thanks your reply and info. we can arrange and ship to any major port like Southampton, Liverpool, New Castle and Bristol. which port is the best for you? shipping cost would be same to make RX-7 shipped. please inform us.

Ok, Answer your questions,

A1. HP of this RX-7, its with 380HP with 0.9kg boost pressure. of course if you like to get more power, can put more boost like 1.2kg with
430Hp around but engine life should be getting short for sure.

A2. of course, its using daily drive and all mechanical condition perfect!

A3. Engine is not rebuilt and no service history but owner done all maintenance at tuning shop and they will issue receipts of changing oils
and etc if you need. owner changed oils every 3000km driven and this RX-7 fully modified done this January and just driven 6000km
       after fully modified.

A4. we are mainly exporting cars to our family company in U.S so we don\'t have any buyers from U.K yet. but the work what we have to do
is same with shipping cars to U.S. And next boat goes to those port in U.K, it will leave Japan on the 2nd week of June. as we checked
with shipping company that there are enough space to book. So if we receive payment this week, we sure we can make it shipped with
this boat. then it will take 21days to reach to those port in UK so you will receive this on around first week of July for sure.

A5. all photos just taken in two weeks.

as soon as we get your confirmation, we will start arranging for shipping with booking space, please reply and inform us.

we wish we can get reply from you soon.

Best regards

Hello,

This is a price I am OK with, thank you.

Which Port could you ship to? I am based in London so I would like the Port to be in the South of the UK for ease of collection.

Few questions â€"

1.       What is the estimated output PS/BHP?
2.       Is the Car un working/running condition presently?
3.       Does the car have any service history or proof of engine rebuild?
4.       What is your guarantee as an importer that my Car will arrive after I have paid you my money? â€" do you have any testimonials from UK customers that I can contact?
5.       When were the pictures taken?

Thank you

Rob

Thank you, I am interested in this Car, are you able to send me the spec list also please? As the website is not currently functioning I cannot see the information about the vehicle.

Also, is this the best price you can do? Ideally I was looking to spend no more than 650,000.00 y

I can pay in full this week at the right price â€" we have a recession here in the UK and performance cars of this type have a low value.

Thanks

Rob

thank you. I know those guys are good but I have always been a bit put off by their prices, fair enough the cars are 100% and its a name you can trust but I find it hard to pay top whack for a motor that I know is worth very little in this current market. I look on the forums for fast jap cars and people cant seem to give them away right now, I dont mind paying 5-6k for a toy but cant justify paying 7-10k for a car that I probably wont be able to sell if I get into money trouble in the future.
I dont even know if I can make an FD fit me, im 6,3" tall and it looks cramped, thanks.

Mir

There are loads of cars for sale on here, which will meet your requirements. Check the for sale section on here. No need to import.

What sort of a budget you have?

Cheers

There are loads of Fd owners who are 6,3". So that would not be an issue. If you are concerned about the cost, build one for yourself, that way you can monitor the cost yourself of a decent FD.

There are loads of single turbo FDs for 7k upwards. So finding a decent Fd for 6k might be difficult I think! Thou its not impossible as in the past, single turbo FDs were sold for under 6k

Cheers

Ok, I will shop around some more thank you, im not sure i want to build on - would rather take advantage of build costs incurred in japan, unless i get very sweet deals on bits based in the UK but much of the value in a jap import is in work that i do not have the time or skill to do myself, i am self employed so a day spent fettling costs me money in lost time. thanks

thanks, I noticed that one, it doesnt really grab me tbh, my current subaru legacy estate runaround is mapped to 328 bhp, im looking for 380-450bhp in an rx7 to excite me into buying, the look of the red one is also not to my taste, i want something a little more track/lairy, diffuser, wing, canards , wide kit etc

Mir

Ok Mate, I will look out for one for you.

Unless, you want to buy a 20b 3 Rotor single turbo gt42 powered Fd, which is pushing arround 750bhp at only a bar of a boost? :D loll, joking I won\'t sell mine :D

I would seriously consider that red FD you were sent the link of. Even though it doesnt meet your BHP standards now it could quite easily be pushed to that i think. It already has the single turbo and most likely all the othe bits like injectors and fuel pump etc. It just needs remapped.

Think about it, ive come to notice these car can easily be tuned up. and most of the expense is the turbo and cooling systems and thats been done for you in that red FD.
