Booked an MOT for today, yesterday.

Went to start her up last night... master fuse is blown. :(

I\'m guessing this happened either during the TIG welding or a severe funk up during putting the battery back in.

Weirdly, the interior lights in the door cards still turn on when I open the doors. Is this normal?

And, what\'s the easiest method of removing the main fuse? :Hammer 2 screws in the side apparently but i\'ll be damned if I can find them!

Car is working again.

MOT booked for this afternoon.

Buzzing noise emenating from the dash though...?

Would be nice after 2 years of SORN to see "Flo" (named after the 2 Shillings I found in her) roadworthy again.

Good luck with it. Hope it goes well.

I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

Get your finger out, get it on the road and start driving it then!!! (B.Martin 25/2/12)

It failed.

Front right anti roll bush has gone.

And both front brake lines need replacing, I had cleaned them up hoping it would be enough for now, but alas no.

Worrying advisory is the coolant/oil leak down near the turbo shroud. The tester said the oil in the turbo must be leaking. I pointed out its air cooled but that made us none-the-wiser.

I\'ve taken the airbox off and gotten in there, from my limited knowledge it looks like there\'s a coolant leak somewhere between the turbo and the fan.

That might be what the buzzing is, low coolant as you start the car from cold,  and as te coolant heats/ expands the low coolant sensor will think there\'s enough coolant in the system and stop buzzing....

You got a pic of the leak?

Coolant was topped up and the buzzing stopped... For a while.

I\'ve got a pic but can\'t upload to the forums from my phone, ill POP it on the MRC Facebook page.

£20 to pass is a little optimistic ;)

The Super pro bushes cost £17! Unless there\'s only one hand in the set. Anyone know? I bought 2 Sway bar sets, does that mean I\'ll get 2x right and left?

Driving the car to the test was my first drive in her. Had me smiling so hard, such a beautiful engine.

The turbo is water and oil cooled, check the water fitting on the turbo as it might be leaking which is where your coolent leak is coming from. There might also be a slight air lock in the system if there is a leak after you have filled it, I know when I changed my rad over there was an air pocket in trapped in the block that works it way out.

Kodiak

Ahh... Well I feel silly. I had thought that since it was an air to air intercooler...

There\'s a lot of staining on the drivers side radiator pipe as it rejoins the engine. There appears to be no leak when standing. Only when hot/under pressure and even then it still doesn\'t pour out.

You will have an air/air intercooler, but you also need to cool the turbo bearings!

The radiator pipe that connects to the waterpump is known to crack over time, it might be a very minute crack on there if its leaking from there at all, there is also the BAC valve which has water flowing through it which is on the side of the upper inlet manifold - might be leaking from there as well!

Also check the below the heater matrix under the dash. Its a PITA to do properly but they have been known to leak. Also check where the hoses connect to the heater matrix pipework in the engine bay next to the bulk head. Mine was leaking from there and took me ages to find especially cause it was filling the passenger side footwell with coolant!

I looked like it was squirting out of the lower rad hose as it joins the block.

So I\'ve replalced the normal spring loaded hose clips with jubilee clips.

New brake hoses are roughly in shape, got the gromit-esqe nuts that hold the hard lines in place soaking in parafin at the moment.

Racing Beat ARB drop links are flying in thanks to the lovely Lisa.

However, I\'m going to have to take the back-box of the exhaust off to get the rubber bracket back on. The hooks at the rear of the exhaust don\'t look like they were designed to mate with the FC\'s stock fixings. Looks like it provides beautiful flow though :InLove Just shame it\'s a single
