Is it just me or are other people suffering the same as me??
The last 12 months all my motoring passion has been sucked out of me (possibly due to the MR2!!) but my pride in my cars has totaly gone :( the RX hasn\'t realy been looked at for 12 months.... quick wash and that\'s it, not clay bared, polished and waxed like I used to, the MR2 hasn\'t actualy been washed in over 12 months let alone seen any polishing.

Think I need to get my priorities sorted, finish the house, then get the Rex up and ready to use for the summer I think..... hopefuly with my new "Oldone racing" rebuilt engine, then finish the Hilux and get rid of the dirty homo MR2 that\'s sucking my passion dry!!

It\'s been a tough 12 months for motoring, everything\'s getting more expensive and people are having to work twice as hard just to keep things ticking over.  I only did three trackdays last year!

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

It\'s even harder to keep focus when you are not driving the car is question, when my FC was off road I even put it up for sale to see why interest I got in it. Fortunately it wasn\'t much and now it\'s back on the road again I won\'t part with it, I\'m sure driving an mr2 really doesn\'t help your cause though! Is it at least the turbo one?

You see, there\'s your problem, you\'ve gone from turbomental rotary goodness to nasty n/a boinger in a fairly shonky chassis.  It\'s no wonder you\'re feeling down!

If I only drove the Vito around I\'d be suicidal :Giggle

Daily driving the Mondeo is made bearable by a weekend thrash in the RX8.  Even if it\'s about as expensive as a recreational cocaine habit at the moment due to being financially sodomised by the budget.

Its hard to say. I get a lot of pleasure out of the FB as a daily and its still bearable on price with gas still at 70p/lt. How long this will last is anybody\'s guess. It was 35p when I converted the FB. I would hate driving something boring in the week, but the time may be coming where I can\'t afford the FB and driving to track days in the FD.

The FD is getting driven less and I\'m really looking forward to Oulton park on the 13th. Car could do with a final tune, but it will have a few bhp :Giggle

As said its getting harder to enjoy the act of driving on the roads as well. I can\'t help feeling the roads are clogged up with nutters who seem to have no clue how to drive. Hell most of them don\'t even know how to switch their night-time headlights off in the daytime. Road conditions are getting worse and clear roads are just a dream !

Did you suggest, drive, on a public road.........Now i think thats the best thing i have heard in years :rollin

As you say buddy, the roads are just a laugh, stop/start/stop/start, i cant seem to go a mile without having to stop at a roundabout or road works or something. If you do manage to get out onto a nice a or b road, there is either a caravan, horse box, accident or that annoying person that just wont go near the speed limit with a couple of cars behind that refuse to overtake just making it impossible for anyone else to get past! :2Mad

The best drive i had recently was heading out early doors to watch a mate rallying, roads were deserted and free from clutter. I must say i thought once the 7 is up and running if i do go for a "drive", it will be in the early hours am.

I am pleased i have a auto bus for daily drive as it would wind me up sat there in something nice.

I think in this day and age you have to define when the best time is to get out on the road :)

I have lost all interest for quite a while, if I could sell all my bits and cars in one hit for sensable money I wouldn\'t think twice!I dont enjoy working on my cars much now although the night befor I sold my white rx7 I went for a blast and put a massive smile back on my face and when I do occasionaly go in the garage that my track car is in I am reminded why I love the car so much.
The trouble with project builds is the time they take, my track car is in the 2nd year of build which is a bloodly long time!, Then other things in life come along and you fall out of love with, fixing problems with daily cars become a chore and the projects get tared with the same brush so the love quickly deminishes :-(

In 20 years time things are gonna be so different....hybrid electric hydrogen personal transport modules things......the car is a dying breed and cars as iconic as the rx7 are gonna be outlawed.....time to enjoy NOW! personal transport will be matter of fact not a personal statement.
I was getting fuel today and a young lad in a saxo came up to me for a chat and said cool car mate that a rotary init? id love one 1 day.....and i thought yeah i said that 15 years ago and i finally got 1 ! (at 38). In 15 years time whats the legislation going to be? and will that young lad be able to fulfil his dream.....i doubt it !  When I left I lit up the rears for 5 seconds .........made me feel good!
Car Tax on the hi performance cars is bonkers after 2006.......these cars are gonna be free with crackers when there old......BUT can anybody can afford emission tax in the future!
Enjoy em whilst we can...... I used to smoke 20 a day now i have a rotary and put £50 in a week and say f$%K it ! get up a 4am and go for drive no traffic !!!
