Originally imported in 2003, this car has covered few miles in the UK, the chassis is in great condition with no rust issues & sills in great original shape. It has had few modifications since its arrival- these are simply subtle, selective modifications that enhance the car but most importantly the engine bay remains bone stock- The Koni suspension setup is comfortable for everyday use and not set at an impractical height, though it is lowered slightly. They respond perfectly to UK roads, exhibit no knocks or bangs at all.

It has genuine Mazdaspeed 17 MS-01s with perhaps one of the best tyres available- Bridgestone Potenza RE-11, if searched online these tyres are often raved about in reviews. The wheels have been aggressively stanced. The front bumper & sideskirts compliment each other nicely, again adding to the overall stance.

Im extremely particular about panel fitment. Its quite common to find cars with aftermarket panels where the bumper & fender dont quite line up. Extra time was spent making sure the bonnet, lights & fender all match up. The fenders, front bumper & headlight covers have been freshly resprayed.

The Kaaz 1.5 way diff, exedy up rated clutch & flywheel were installed by the previous owner. These do alter the drive; the clutch is rated for more power & bites harder, the differential makes for more effortless sideways action but becomes a nuisance for parallel parking & small manoeuvres. It is down to personal preference, and can be swapped at most garages for an hours labour. Standard differentials cost 100-150 second hand but 1.5ways often go between 400-500, so if you do decide to remove this modification, you will not lose money doing so.

The interior is squeak free, all the panels are the late spec variant- these are much more desirable in comparison to the early spec panels which mark easily & can end up looking quite tatty. All the panels are in good condition including the drivers side cubby box which is very common to break in these cars. It has a 2+2 seating arrangement & the front seats are the later spec carbon effect type. All in all the interior is a very nice place to be, complete with boost gauge & aftermarket cd player.

I have been a rotary enthusiast for over 4 years and also own several on-going FD based projects. Being an enthusiast & a qualified automotive engineer, I maintain my cars religiously. Most potential buyers when looking for RX7s tend to focus heavily on the engine health. However, there is so much more to these cars which differentiate a good car from the rest including exterior and interior condition, suspension bushes and transmission mounts which are commonly neglected on poor high mileage examples.

The engine has been compression tested using my close friends genuine Mazda Rotary Compression tester showing mid 7s all round at 250rpm. I will shortly upload videos of the test being done, but will happily have this test performed again for any potential buyer. The engine starts first time every time from hot & cold and drives immaculately with no knocks, coolant loss or lubrication issues. Both turbos pull extremely hard in every gear and the sequential system transition is smooth. All of the engine electrics are in perfect working order. The engine is completely unmodified.

Not too far from me, i said id never buy another rex after the money i lost on the last one but the fact the engine is standard is really tempting, let me give this some serious thought.

Hi mate, it has never been used as a drifter- the old handbrake was a bit tatty so I bought another of someone on here breaking their car. I believe the previous owner had a 1.5way diff installed to make the handling charectaristics more predictable. I do like this setup a lot for fast driving, but no- it has never been near a drift event or similar!
