Alternator connector

Hey chaps

I found a little two pin connector smashed to smithereens next to my alternator.

What does this do?

I connected it back up and I got a fair bit of smoke

It runs just as good without it connected, so just isolated each pin and tie wrapped it out of the way for now

Anyone with any knowledge of this?

I know there is a little grey 2 pin connector above your air pump that\'s for the air pump, which you disconnect when you decat an fd but that\'s on the left side of your engine looking at it from the front
