really wouldn\'t worry about a stock FD oil pressure gauge mate, notoriously unreliable!
most flap about like a prick in a sleeve!

Check the connectors etc, they can easily be knocked

Prof

Yep - on the FC the oil pressure gauge is on the side of the engine under the oil filter, brass coloured thingy, the connector just slides on - and as Mitch says - just slides off too - can also get grubby if you\'ve had a leak.

Might be best to upgrade to an aftermarket gauge though, the OEM gauges aren\'t that accurate lol

Kamatari

didnt look like any connectors have come off although i do believe i might need to replace the sump gasket...theres always something with this! Now where to find the gasket

Corrected that for you.

Anyone got any ideas as to where to get hold of gaskets from?

Try sending an email to sales@mazdarotaryparts.com and asking Clive/Lisa if they can get you one... They\'ve been getting me all sorts of gaskets and things recently. (Got a fuel pump gasket on the way for next week)

I\'m sure they\'ll be able to get you one :)

Alternatively, you might be able to get away with smearing Blue Hylomar on the current gasket, but it\'s always best to get a new one if you can :)

Anyone got any experience in taking the oil cooler off the car? my lines seem completely siezed to the cooler :(

Big Impact socket and a long bar ;)

I\'d get hold of some duck oil or PlusGas and give the banjo bolts a good squirt with that a few times - leaving it 30 mins or so between squirts - and then gently apply some pressure on the long bar - usually you get the satisfying \'crack\' when it frees.

your intercooler is alloy and your pipes are metal, there is a bimetal reaction gone on and they most likely wont come apart without taking the threads with them

Kamatari

:( i dont like the sound of that! so i take it im going to be safer trying to undo the lines from the engine side instead of at the cooler?
