Hi all,

My 7 is going in for its MOT tomorrow, not sure what it will fail on this year, but hopefully its fixable!

I don\'t know the answer to this but lets have some guesses on how many miles I did in in the car between MOTs.

Kamatari

RexMidlands - A place for Midland rotary owners to hang out

BinoX

probably between 500 and 1000... Depending on how far away meets are.
2004 RX8 192PS - Stock [Now sold... I miss it :(]
1989 RX7 FC Turbo II Cabriolet - Now road legal, but still with problems

B.Martin

Gonna go for 650, best of luck.

It passed its MOT - just got a call, not sure what the emissions were, will post up results later :) no idea how it passed the emissions, its a chipped ECU with only an exhaust pipe as the emissions system lol no cat, no air pump!

B.Martin

Sounds like a win to me :D

Kamatari

excellent :D now what was the mileage ?

#7
The CO% was 2.37%, max allowed is 3.5% which is good lol with the air pump last year it was 0.18% though lol

Annunal mileage - 182 miles

Nice one fella. Now get some miles on her!

I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

Get your finger out, get it on the road and start driving it then!!! (B.Martin 25/2/12)

Yeah, I should be able to now as its all together again and I have sorted out the coolent leak and many many other issues lol still needs a gearbox switch added, base map and then a mapping session on the dyno to dial the figures in etc should at least be able to go racing again this year :) will perhaps try the ORC clutch this year and then swap back to an uprated Exedy next year.

Hi Mitch, good news on the MOT and getting the car back on the road, are you going to run the stock turbo with better fueling and bigger injectors etc to see what you get out of it
Cheers,

Yeah thats the plan, usually the stock turbo maxxes out the OEM injectors, my turbo is upgraded with 360 degree bearings so its a bit beefier than the OEM OEM bearings lol im going to see what sort of power it makes and what sort of drag times it can do, it usually boosts to 0.5 bar instantly as soon as you go near the throttle but usually runs out of puff at stock 0.6bar boost, ive never had it at 0.9bar as of yet due to the fueling, so will be interesting to see how much extra that would give me.

I do still have the TA45 kit in the garage, the manifold I have is amazing and as its a T4 it will fit a lot of turbos, will see how I feel about the car, would rather the turbo kit be sold so im not tempted to try and fit it, garage is basically clear of all the uprated parts now.

sounds like a plan, mine is bosting at .9bar but drops off to .6bar higher in the rev range, useing an RE ecu, stock injectors, intake and exhuast etc, off the mark the stock turbo at .9 really pulls hard if you can get the stock turbo to deliver .9bar even higher in the rev range the car would go really well.
I\'ve got a hybrid turbo to get rebuilt that I want to fit useing the stock maifold, ported waste gate and upgraded fueling, and power FC so it will be interesting to see what sort of power you can get with out going to over the top with every thing.

Mine has an uprated HKS actuator, so it can hold the higher boost, ive just never tried to boost that high lol what hybrid do you have?

festa

Its a knight sport 320 the turbine side is standard but the commpressor is upgraded to a t04e so spool up is close to standard but it has more puff at higher revs so it will be interesting to see how it goes.
As for the stock .9 boost it holds till about 5.5k then drops back to .6 which in a way probably stops the engine from running lean and destroying itself higher in the rev range when it needs more fuel than the stock injectors can give.
If you can get the boost to stay at .9 on the stock turbo and beter fueling then it will be interesting to see what sort of power you get
