Hi everyone,

Not sure if anyone can suggest an answer to this but here goes...

The A/C is not very cold in my RX7 (FD3S 1996 UK Car)

It all works ok, there is evidence of bubbles in the inspection glass and when I hook up a gauge to the piping it shows that the level of R134a is fine.

But for some wierd reason the cold air is always air temperature it never seems to go cold any more.

I\'m not sure if it\'s related or not but it seemed to start about the same time as fitting a Power FC and an upgraded radiator (Greddy).

There is more of a gap between the radiator and condensor could this have an effect? I had to put some washers inbetween the brackets (to drop the condensor slightly) so that the radiator would fit. Lack of proper air flow?

If the compressor is going fair enough, but it all seems to be ok. I\'m a bit puzzled! haha.

There is also a slight hissing noise from behind the passenger side dashboard which happens when the A/C is on (I\'m sure its not a snake by the way......)

I did consider fitting the old ECU back again to see if it made any difference but with the exhaust and intercooler mods I\'ve made I would be worried about damaging the engine.

Thanks,

Andrew.

swap back to the stock ecu, and just leave the car running and switch a/c on. there is no need to drive it as the fans will be on pulling air through ac/rad

Thanks RX7Boy,

Is the power fc known to upset the a/c?

Not normally but it would quickly let you know if there is an issue. Behind the glove box there is a temp sensor of the A/C core, you may have a faulty unit but there is no way to know for sure. So best start with eliminating the ECU as being the cause and move on from there.

Thanks again,

I\'ll have a go in the morning.

Also just to add that the compressor is working for 5 to 10 second periods switches off for 10 seconds and then starts again for a short period, whereas before it would stay on for longer. Could just be coincedence anyway.

are you sure the gas in it is good ? might need to be re-gassed
