I think there was an FD for sale in France on here a few months back, they were asking 11,000 Euros but from what I recall it had some nice mods and was producing over 300bhp.

Its slightly counterintuitive but I think you\'d be able to get a higher price if you kept it unregistered in France, as you\'d be able to sell to most of the europe then. For example you might have some luck selling in Switzerland. check out the price of this one that hasn\'t even had a rebuild. http://www.autoscout24.ch/Search/Detail.aspx?lng=de&nav=7&vehtyp=10&SearchType=AS24&make=12925&allmakes=AS24&typename=rx7&index=8&vehid=399727

I\'m not sure what the regs are like in France in Germany, but in Switzerland you need to get the headlights swapped to a LHD model, which in reality means buying them from the states as they have the \'dot\' mark.

We should really count ourselves lucky in the UK that we have such relaxed rules about grey imports.

I based my asking price on this ad http://www.leboncoin.fr/voitures/283841238.htm?ca=6_s
as it is the closest equivelent to mine. I have no illusions as to actually getting that much for it but just used this example as a starting point.

I do have to get the LHD headlights and the states is looking like the best option at the moment but it may just be possible to find some in europe... still searching.

Just out of interest, if you check out others offered on "le bon coin" you will see thm offered for up to 35000 euros in France.:yes

well mine is heavely modded and has a fresh engine with lower miles its an import so no rust if standard ones go for that then maybe i should advertise abroad . i put mine up for sale on piston heads for 15000 and got nothing so i guess europe is the way to go

The one in the ad says that it is one of only 200 that were officially imported into France by Mazda. It is possible to modify cars in France but, like everythig here there is a mountain of beurocracy and paperwork to complete for everything that you do. To re-register a foreign car the first thing you need is a certifiate of conformity from the manufacturer. This is easy and relatively cheap (£75) if it was originally imported into europe. The Japanese imports are harder apparently as they don\'t conform to european standards and you have to apply to Japan for the certificate.

Thats the problem though, if your car is a Japanese import it is effectively worthless in Europe, as the expense of the inspection and making sure literally everything on the car conforms to CE or DOT spec can rup to tens of thousands of pounds. Emissions and MOTs are also much stricter.

In france, there is only 1k€ difference between registering a uk and jpsec car.
There is a similar red rx7 for sale in France for 10k£ which hasn\'t sold in 6 months...

wowwww  !!!!!:2eek

18 000 euro !!!

you can\'t compare the price of the RHD and LHD

in france the LHD are for sale at a big price (too expensive to my humble opinion) because it\'s rare

but when you know the price in uk,18 000 for a RHD it s very very too expensive (but it\'s your car and you put your price ;) )  and if you can found a pigeon great for you ;)

but still good sale

Still Uk reg. Any test welcome. Offers.

Hello,

By any chance, is the plate number ending with "GHX" ?

mate if your trying to sell your stock fd in the uk...3-4k atm would be considered a good price atm....the market is not soo good here...have a look around the forum...in the cars for sale section.....get some pics up of your car that should help a lot with your sale. :Thumbs-up

I\'m curious just how good this car is? Any chance of photos please? There is another red UK car on here for sale that looks absolutely immaculate in photos and even still has the pre-cat pipe on it. Un-modified.

Asking much less than this, but then again photos can lie.
