Hi guys
Ive got a problem lol
My car was set up with a greddy ProfecB before i bought it at the garage, they sent it to PTS, and now the profecB dosnt work, and the boost is set to 4 - 5bar.... Fish helped me track down some of the probs:

No profecB solonoid!
All waste gate pipes that go to the stock controllers are bunged up (underneath the manifold)!
Stock plugs for the controllers are also unplugged!

So what now? think its running on the wastegate springs to limit boost (think thats how Fish explained it)

So do i plug all the piping back into the stock controllers (in which order???) or do i get a new greddy solonoid thingy?

Also, will i have to adjust the wastegates to get back the proper (0.8bar) boost, or when i plug the controllers will this overide the mechanical limit of 0.4 bar?

Where the hell would the greddy soloniod be? i cant find it, so im guessing its not there anymore, plus all the waste gatepipes go up into the stock metal pipes, upto the manifold, where they are blocked up.... hope all this makes sense lol

Thanks for the help Fish.

Seems PTS have your Greddy Boost solenoid in there workshop somewhere!!! get on the blower and demand it back!!

Your wastegate/spring will be set at 7psi.

I would get your Greddy solenoid back before trying to get the stock setup working again, as the standard vacuum lines are a maze.

7psi is around .4 -.5 bar right? so thats about right then. In which case the solenoid overides it to 0.8bar or 12psi, is that correct?

Somehow it think i will have trouble getting it back lol, as it was a good couple of months ago. I remember them saying there was a problem with the greddy unit, so in hind site im guessing they where on about the solenoid.... wonder if its possible just to get the solenoid, or if i have to get the new serries 2 controller?

Its all starting to make sense lol

BlitzBoy

yeah you are are correct the standard solenoids will allow boost to 10 psi more on the post 99 cars.

Yeah Im sure if you try the vendors who advertise here they will be able to sort you out the newer solenoid

ahh, but mine is a 92 car, so what should the boost be (in bar) then?

BlitzBoy

It should be 10 psi which is 0.69 BAR

Thanks for the help mate, im gonna put it back to stock, after having found a nice diagram and then go from there i think, making sure its running nice :p

cheers

Scot

ok so im confused again.
Ive plugged the solenoids back up (pre control on the left, going to bottom wastegate;  wastegate control on the right, going to top wastegate) and im still stuck with 0.5 bar boost, but did go up to 0.6 once!

It is seeming to control the second turbo better... comming on full boost more often, and even when its seems as if its not gonna give constant boost, it will suprise me at 6000 - 7000rpm and comes on...... lol any ideas? all the tubes are plugged in corectly (by me blowing through them to make sure where they come out off)

There are a couple of vacum pipes under the manifold which are disconected though... god i wish i could show u!

Anybody have any ideas? im pretty confused!

Scot

By looking at this diagram, it could possibly be one of the charge control or relief or egr pipes...that is unplugged. Would this have happened to run a profec b serries 1...?

Though to be honest i dont have a clue, as there are so many underneath the manifold.

I dont suppose anybody has any pics of underneath the manifold, so i can see, instead of looking at a load of random pipe work in a diagram? any help would be great!!!
