Well.... the time has come and I simply cannot afford to keep a car any more. I\'ve been putting this off for about a year now but as my finances are getting squeezed more and more so unfortunately she has to go.

1992 mazda rx7 single GT35 turbo - 400bhp @ 0.7bar

The Car was imported in 2004, with me having owned it since September 2008.

Cheap tax as registered as a 1.3. taxed until Feb 2013.
MOT is until May 2012 - however, for piece of mind, I dont mind getting a fresh MOT if a deposit for the car is made. (I am 100% confident it will just fly through it)

The Insurance is also very cheap if you get hold of a classic car insurance - a typical price is £250-£350.

Current mileage on the chassis shows 74000.

Current mileage on the engine is 8000 miles.

The engine was replaced 1000 miles before I took ownership (I have since only covered another 6000) and was street ported in the rebuild. A while back I had the engine compression checked and im sure the results were;
Front 6.9 7.0 6.9
Rear 7.0 7.1 7.1

But if you want to carry another one out yourself then your more than welcome.

The engine oil has always been changed at 2000-3000miles or every 3 months whichever came first and the vehicle has been maintained well by myself. It starts easily, first time hot or cold with no issues what so ever. I never drive it hard cold, it has always fully been warmed up before even going above 3k revs.

It has the following modifications from standard (most of which carried out whilst I had ownership)
  • Street ported engine with a GT35 ball bearing Turbo
  • 850cc injectors
  • stainless steel Atomic Rex exhaust with midbox and backbox - very nice sound, quiet at low revs but loud when you put your foot down.
  • bailey dump valve
  • front mount intercooler
  • uprated alloy radiator
  • new greddy twin plate clutch fitted about 4-5000 miles ago
  • apexi pfc with commander
  • quick reacting air temp sensor
  • aftermarket gauge pod in place of the centre speaker showing, oil temp and water/voltage
  • Aftermarket Twin A-Pillar pod with Boost and Voltage gauge.
  • racing gel battery behind passenger seat with cut off switch
  • rear bins fitted - however still have the seats in my shed
  • Mazdaspeed Short shifter
  • Heated windscreen - clears in seconds!! (a must for those cold mornings)
  • magnacore spark plug leads
  • Clifford 650 Alarm - (previously advertised as having intellistart installed as well but i have never bothered to try and activate it)

Very likely missed loads out - but will add things as they return to memory lol

  • Vehicle has been mapped by Carl at Hayward Rotary and always run on shell v-power. Rear seats have been removed with bins now in their place so the battery is now relocated into the boot. I do however still have the wooden inserts and the small racing battery that fits into one of the bins that is free of course and included with the sale, as well as the rear seat belts and a few other bits I have lying about in the sheds. (yes i have more than 1 shed full of car parts)

Please note: The car has pop up lights as seen in one of the pictures, rather than the bug eyed ones.

Bad bits
  • A few marks on the bodywork which is to be expected on a car of this age.

  • The Rear offside wheel bearing probably needs replacing, which I am trying to find the time to do now, however if someone is interested in the car before I have had the chance I will still pay for a new wheel bearing and you can install when a time suits you.

  • For the life of me ... I cant work out why the pop up lights wont go back down... I think im missing a relay but I don\'t know which/where it is.

It drives and handles fantastically always puts a smile on my face, and has never let me down. It really hurts to have to sell her... £5499 ono

As I am very busy at the moment, E-mail would be the best way to contact me but if you prefer to call me then just ask for my number.

Do you have any interior pictures mate? Also is it easy to change the bins back to rear seats?

matthewbellamy

I got the rear seats if you want them Gaz but you will have to strip them off my car as i have no tools :s *man fail*

Gaz FD

hahaha cheers but i think he has the rear seats still "rear bins fitted - however still have the seats in my shed"

bigdawg

ill have to take a few tomorrow morning - i thought i had some but evidently not.

and yes i still have the bucket seats and backrest, but not the side panels ( i think they are different)

It would take possibly 10-20 min to swap them over. Its just a few screws and bolts. :)

Nice one mate, engine bay pic would be nice too.
