My FC can increase its power by 50% just with a few bolt ons to the standard system, I don\'t need to add on anything extra like a turbo charger to a supercharger, its already got one as OEM

This is a good watch..

Sounds like they have put the correct equidistant exhaust headers on the boxer engine

Will66

Yep, sounds a bit rough to be honest, but I guess you get used to a smooth engine with a rotary!

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

Im curious at how they get a combined mpg of 42 out of a boxer engine! You would be lucky to see half that on a Imprezza, yes i know they are turbo\'d, but even being delicate didnt see 25 on mine!

Will66

Never venture above 3000 rpm or half throttle probably.  I once watched an economy trial for the Extra Urban cycle, the level of concentration that the operator was using was something akin to some form of meditation.  Never mind focussing on the sound of one hand clapping, focus on getting 42 mpg from a Toyota GT86!

Yeah I think 42 is a bit optimistic!! It will be better cause its "an all new" engine weras the old ej had been going for about 20 years.  Plus its not having to drive extra diffs which will help.

m1tch

They didn\'t really like it on Top Gear last night lol

I have had a bit of discussion about this on pistonheads! Whilst i like the concept, i think its a bit pricey, it looks shocking (a matter of taste of course) and in relative terms these days, low hp. I know that is kind of the concept but in the era of cars this harks back to, the lightweight buzzy, rwd fine handling coupes, they were actually relatively fast for their day! This isnt or wont be! The argument on pistonheads is, if you want a rwd, lightweight etc car, its the only thing on the market, im not sure that makes me want one tbh!

If it is so good and produced for a particular market that everyone is calling for, why are they already playing with superchargers?

I know everyone is saying that 197 bhp isn\'t a huge amount but what were the rx8 when they came out? Around the same bhp I believe?

If it is light weight and have great handling characteristics like the rx8 it would surely be a great car to drive?

And it sure as hell would out perform a rusty FC around a track thats for sure.

Do not disagree at all buddy, sure they will drive and handle just fine, but, think the novelty and lack of power will wear off very quickly!

Grant Monkhouse

Yes they will, I wasn\'t to sure on the car but it seems good but could do with 100HP more. If it looked more like the GT300 version I would want one.

Will66

Depends on how good the chassis actually is.  With 200bhp you stand half a chance of being able to use it on the road without being in court with some pious tosspot of a magistrate telling you you\'re a menace to society driving your powerful car at such speeds when he\'s just fined the smack addict half what he\'s fined you for putting a pensioner in hospital by assaulting him for his pension because "He\'s going to go to rehab."

Yes, I\'m bitter, I used my uncle\'s 350 bhp Saph cossie on the A47 and I got in trouble because I wanted to see what full boost in third felt like for 5 seconds and there was camera.
