hi guys i got given by my familly a good hybrid turbo.

it says g80 on the exhaust housing (looks same as stock) but has a much bigger intake compressor, it says a/r .60 ec-1 m12

it has a 70mm intake pipe with a 60mm wheel output is 45mm

has a hks actuator on it not sure of boost level at mo

it has a lable that says fc3s turbo 320-370 bhp???? came with a tuned ecu and loads of engine electricals im asuming the parts the ecu was mapped with

my car has front mount greddy intercooler, and all emistion parts removed with removed power steering pump with saxo electric pump in its place.

anyone got any ide what injectors are ment to be use as i have stock at mo??????

billybobbooth

forgot to say i have a fc turbo 2 1990.

Any pics of the turbo, I have a similar one that I\'m getting rebuilt but I will be running an apxi so I can control the injectors, also how did you fit the power steering pump, I\'ve got a saxo one but haven\'t fitted it.
Very hard to know what injectors to use with the ECU you have as the map would have been designed to suit a specific size, you may have to use a programable ECU so you can have the car mapped properly

yer my plan was to fit it and put like 650s in and get a piggyback then have it all mapped,

depends which saxo pump you have as there are 2! you need the one with remote bottle not the one with a built in bottle.

mine is a bit odd as i have a custom wire loom to go in but i have it wired via a switch and fuse direct to the acc wireing this way its on all the time after i have ragged it to keep it flowing round abit. and i can switch it off if i need to.

my pump came with loads of wireing and the stock pipes so i just cut my stock pipes and fitted new pipes to them the looped the big pipe to the big saxo pipe and the small on to the small saxo pipe. i then just put the bottle in the engine bay. its been removed at mo while i sort out my intercooler pipeing as i have a greddy intercooler kit but as it wasnt designed with abs it had to remove the power steering pump and custom the greddy pipes.

if you get the saxo relays or mr2 relays you can get the power steering to cut out at 50mph and back in at 40mph (i just left mine on all the time takes away a little of the feel but makes easy driving compared to stock)

I think you\'ll need bigger than 650s for the power that turbo can give, I\'m no expert but I think its better to have slightly bigger than you need so your no maxing out the injector, where about in Herts are u

I live just outside tring.
Yer i agree i would rather have bigger injectors that can be turned up and down rather than smaller that will be maxed out very easly.

hi mate, i\'m in Cheshunt not that far from Tring, would be good to meet up some time
Cheers

If you are wanting to run a FMIC or V mount...

billybobbooth

i have a front mount on. cant i use my stock rail for the uprated injectors??

yer drop me a text at some point my number is 07507572754.

hi guys does anyone know roughly what most chipped ecus run the fuel injector duty cycle at?

i know stock on a fc depending on years is between 58%-63% most early ones are 58% and the later 89+ are 63% ish and the enfini is 65%

m1tch

My Knightsports chip runs the primaries to about 92% duty cycle (basically maxxed out) - too high for me so im going to try and reduce that and bring the secondaries online earlier.

For sale thread for the quad bung UIM is here:

i would buy the manifold but im planning on putting a fd intake manifold on.

i might just get some fd secondarys and see what my a/f ratio is at with the chipped ecu for now just while i have to move the car about as i dont even want it boosting at the mo when i do have to move it. as im just to concerned about it running far to lean rather than a bit lean if it tuches boost.

Injectors - best advice I can give you is to get some information on that turbo - you really need to know what it can produce in terms of air flow.

There are a couple of sites around that let you work out what injector sizes are required for given horsepower, but in a sense you have to work to the turbo.

I run a hybrid - similar in spec to yours, and run stock 550 primaries and 800cc secondaries.  The fuel pressure is raised slightly from stock so that the primaries act more like 600cc and the secondaries 900cc - that\'s more than enough with the hybrid turbo to hit 360 at the flywheel provided you are happy with 85-90% on the injectors (which isn\'t bad - just doesn\'t give you much headroom)

Using the emanage, I made sure that should the boost start to go to where the map would struggle to feed the injectors, it swamps the fuelling on the secondaries and retards ignition by about 5-10 degrees).  What this does is make the engine bog whenever it hits that top boost, and then I just back the boost controller off so I should never hit that part of the map.  It acts like a safety net, as the engine bogging makes the boost drop off rapidly.

It\'s worth making sure that you have plenty of headroom on the injectos - so if your calculations say use 800 - then go for 1000cc injectors, or use additional injectors to cover the shortfall.

Once you\'ve worked out you\'re injectors - you then need to make sure the fuel pump can deliver - the stock one on the old wiring CANT supply enough fuel at high boost - so don\'t even try.

Make sure that what ever boost you plan on running, that the chosen fuel pump can deliver the fuel pressure at the higher boost rates.  Most pump manufactureres have graphs of fuel flow against pressure and pump voltage.  Re wiring the pump is a good idea.

All this stuff is on the site - it would be worth you searching...

FD injectors are side feed, FC injectors are the better top feed, as prof\'s setup is, go with standard primaries and 800 secondaries, they should drop in (unlike with my setup lol) make sure you have a good pump like a Bosch 044, BNR or Walbro 255

billybobbooth

Yer i found a site for working out injector and i think 1000cc secondarys will work out should be about 75% duty.
I have a walbro 255 in already.
Tried to find out more info on turbo but there is no more info except what i measured.
Found out 1 prob. The ecu won\'t work as my car had a n380 ecu in and won\'t run with a n374 due to i don\'t have the black box for idle control so im going to have to go emanage ultimate.
If was a mr2 i would know all the answers but with the rx i have no idea what works best as far a fuel ect.
Thanks for helping guys its really useful getting extra advice.
