Anyone know what size the nut is on the alternator im looking to get a nice shiny one to go with my pulleys.
Oh its on an RX8 but id assume it would be the same size as the RX7.
Also if anyone knows a place I can get one of these im looking at an acorn/dome nut.

Yes FE and RX-7\'s will be the same

From memory its an odd size and 23mm socket to remove it and its an odd thin wall nut with a metric fine thread that\'s essentially a nut made for alternators.

The diameter of the thread is something like 16/17 mm and if you could find a conventional domed nut the socket size would come up as a 24 or 25 mm all of this means that your new nut will not fit inside the pulley recess,

Hope this helps but I hope my memory is wrong with all these sizes because I think what you want to do is a no go unfortunatly
All the best Clive

Hmm thanks Clive thats a good point with the recess thing I know these guys do it but it may only be for there pulley as its recess is more curved where as mine isnt.
