I have a decat pipe that im fitting to my car, im removing the air pump system and I have a power fc that im going to put in. First question what do I do with the sensor on the opposite side of the air pump inlet i have no hole for it is it needed, if not how can i get rid of it with no probs. Secondly im prob going to go non sequential setup, do I need a boost controller, 3rd should I get an uprated fuel pump. thanks luke

there are air pump blanking kits available .
you wont need a boost controller its all done on the apexi and map .
the standard fuel pump will run a none sequential set up fine .
but ! rememeber the apexi will be in  a base map configuration so it needs setting up buy a tunner asap if you drive the car hard it will not be good for it so no big boosts

theres links up on the forum for hayward rotary speak to carl hell give you all the prices and advice

to give you an idea, if your running an power fc with a decat you will need to add a bit of fuel as it will run lean, i think it was low 12afr on boost without any adjustments.

id hardwire your standard fuel pump aswell so at least you know its getting the full 12volts, seem to work for me even when i had the boost up to 20psi.

if your going nonseq you will need a boost controller, either bleed valve or electronic, i used a homemade bleed valve as it was free.

My advise is not to go nonseq, if everything is working ok dont touch it, you will make your car slower below 4krpm and not really gain anymore power from 5k upwards, only time you will make more power is 4-5k.

ok so i need a boost controller, im planning to get the car mapped at RXmotors as its just down the road from me, what about this sensor on the cat, ive heard its a temp sensor, do i need it?

The reason I was planning to go nonseq is im planning to use the car for hillclimbs and Im not keen on the boost drop between the turbo kicking in.

The heat warning sensor on the cat you can hide up behind the heat shielding or if you take it out join the two wires together.

hillclimbing is exactly the reason why you want to be sequential!!

what would you rather have, 1bar of boost at 4.5krpm or 1bar at 2.7krpm as thats what will happen.

trust me, stay seq, imagine you come around a corner and your less than 5krpm, you then have to spool up 2 turbochargers which take time instead of just one which will give you a chunk of torque.

ask anyone on here and i cant see anyone disagreeing with me

Where you gonna Hillclimb bud-Gurston and Longleat?

not sure yet hopefully Gurston, I have a friend that hillclimbs a stratos replica and have been going with him the last few years so wanna try myself, think an fd would really do well at this.

I wanted to go non seq because ive got probs with it boosting at the moment, second turbo sometimes doesnt kick in, I know I should get it fixed first but thought going nonseq getting rid of most the rats nest would cure it.

Will go small single, but cant afford at the moment.

I think I know that Stratos replica-it\'s on my wishlist! Gurston is a great little course but as you know thats a tight turn and steep exit at the bottom requiring a bit of low down grunt so I\'m with turbotoaster mate.

Whatever happens let us know if you compete around here-I\'ll turn up and wave a rotary flag!

its a green one with a yamaha derived 2.0 V8 mad little thing. That would be great to have some rotary support lol, will hopefully be doing it, bit more work do do on the car then it should be ready.

Hi, i have got the heat warning light on the dash.. got a de_cat, but not yet a Apexi. i have dis connected the exhaust temp sensor under the driver seat when i removed the original mid pipe. if i for now, bridge the multiplug under the driver seat, will that turn the light off?
regards.

That will put the light out but a decat with standard ECU will make your engine a ticking time bomb. A restricter in the exhaust such as a gasket with a smaller hole might help until you get an Apexi.

yeh i have a 2.5 inch gasket for it atm... its reduced it down from 3 inch.. do you reckon that would be enough for now?

philiwily

It will help, just take it easy, especially going up hills.
