i like the dial..... how much is the kit and did it come with the shiny suround?

Jonrms

the dial kit was about 150 us dollars... and then it cost more to ship to uk. plus vat and tax.
the alloy bessel. was around 75 us dollars plus a little shipping and tax
so all in all it was about 200 pounds..
but it is best when it glows blue at night!!!!
fantastic.

t2rew

can you put up a link for the place?

Jonrms

yeah sorry.. it was very simple. go to ebay.. and make sure you search for rx7.. and also make sure you search under items available to the uk!!!!
you get loads.
most of my things have been bought in differant countrys..
and it is a cheaper way of doing all this.
hence why i have been able to do alot in a very short time..

richrx

this thread must be great for people with a dial up connection:rollin

Jonrms

sorry rich.
just putting pictures on for those who want to view

pps i just got my lights today..
and the package said happy birthday... all the way from japan..
how cool was that.

anyway i will show you pics of them ... hopefully tommorow. i am desperate to fit them..
they look soo cool.

and they didnt cost alot.

in total i think it only cost me 113 pounds..

again they were on ebay..

but OH MY GOD they are perfect..

well pics comming soon.

richrx

not a problem, ive got broadband. i just thought it was funny tho

Jonrms

rich i have dial up. it doesnt take that long.. but i suppose if you looked at the entire file. it may take a while.
page by page is the best and dont over lap
anyway what do you think so far..
not bad considering it started off very rusty and nearly scrapped.

richrx

ye it\'s looking good. it should be all the better if you done all the work yourself:D

how about putting a 13b rew into that beetle in the backgroung:rolleyes:

Jonrms

i restored that car for my wife .. she would kill me.
but i have to say i have thought about it.... lol
anyway i am toying with the idea that i should buy a TT engine.
ie twin turbo..
not audi tt
to put in my rx
need to find one cheap..
that is gonna be tough
anyway.. i will probably sell mine.. only just turned 40 k on the clock..
not bad for a 86 is it???

richrx

i like the second gens, and love the fact cars are so old and can still out look a new car:D

hmm BMW 3 series or RX-7, i just cant decide:rollin :rollin

no offence to the 3 series owners, there just common

Jonrms

rich. you can have mine if the price is right. i want a 3 series .... dont know why but i do...

i have to say i love mine... though. it it the best as far as i am concerned... i still have loads that need to go on... but hey ... that is the endless battle of modifications.

Jonrms

ok problems...:reallymad
i bought the lights... as you have all seen.
heres the problem there TOO BIG
honest ;.
they are meant for the american and japaneese market.. meaning there is a much smaller gap between number plates..
not too big of a problem.. but it meant i have had to order the jap numberplate bit... (you know the plastic thing between the lights...) anyway i am waiting for that to arrive from japan..
second problem.
i realised how much work it is gonna take to get this bonnet thing to work.
not as simple as i first thougt.. the bonnet of the rx is very very thick..
meaning alot of layers.
so either i cut it and work around the supports or i give up and try to find a turbo bonnet myself...
i dont think i will do any of the cutting on the bonnet.. it is way too difficult.. plus i have a fear of messing up!!!

Mark Ide

Jon
Beware, I think (not sure) that the T2 bonnet has different mountings / hinges compared to a EGI, but I\'m sure Rotechniks or someone could help.

Jonrms

thanks for that i will try rototechnics...
i didnt know where to turn.
only problem now is finding someone who wants to fit the bonnet and or is willing to buy it off of me..
well we will see.
