Figured i should finally start doing one of these and not keep cluttering up the \'2nd generation\' area. So here goes:

Got my second FC now, about 3 weeks ago after waiting about 2 months for it. Having moved to Cyprus it turns out getting a car over here is much more difficult that anyone you talk to will have you belive. Anyway, wanted a Turbo II for years now i was about 18 i think when i fell in love with its retro sports car looks. I have primary target of 300BHP, but also want to look even cooler than it does now.

As far as i can see, as it was when i first got it mods are:-
  • Exhaust and downpipe (unknown brand)
  • Rear strutt brace (mazdaspeed)
  • K&N replacement panel filter
The car was put on a Dyno by the previous owner only a few weeks before he sold it to me and was making 219bhp, which is not bad i don\'t think for a pretty stock set up. The engine is on roughly 20k miles and was rebuilt by RXmotors, who also inform me that they used to look after the car for an older lady and it was regually serviced. Always good to hear, other than that its history is pretty minimal. Here is how she looked when i first got her:-

The first pic, was actually at the port...

Then after a clean and taken to somewhere a little nicer than the streets for some photo\'s.

Thought i\'d get the pic of me cleaning the car in there for good effect :2Rolleyes

and here is the afore mentioned strutt brace

Having spend over £2500 getting the car and shipping it over, i don\'t currently have any major (Big spending) plans in the immediate future. My first step is to sort out the handling with some coilovers, then ensure the car stays cool in the hot Cypriot climate with a new radiator and fan set up. The eagle eyed of you might have spotted that i managed to loose a FTP lens of the front when driving between taking photo\'s so the first mod i did was to remove the second one as well, finally cam to the conclusion it looked better anyway.

I had already brought a box of little goodies to fit to her before i even got the car and a special thanks to M1tch who helped me out with a BOV as well, so i got to work fitting the smaller things first. Find the box of goodies below...

In the box of goodies you can find:-
  • Samco coolant hoses
  • Feed oil cap
  • RE:Amemiya rad cap
  • Blitz BOV
  • HKS replacement filter
So engine bay looked like this (only pic i have of the stock bay)

Then after some parts fitting...

Oil & Rad cap

HKS filter

Coolant hoses which were fitted this weekend just gone, probably the frustrating thing i have ever tried to do on car. There is not enough space to get to the lower hose properly add that to the soaring temperatures and it gets very irritating.

Then a freind of mine came over to help fit the BOV, which sounds quite nice actually. Not to intrusive either, which i was slightly worried about.

So all going well so far, i got some bulbs i ordered from eBay monday and set to work on making the indicators look better. So from crappy 80\'s orange:-

To a bit more stylish clear:-

To do this i must have spend about 2 hours trying to get apart the orange plastic thats been glued inside the indicator lens for 22 years. The end result however is satisfactory. So now i have a pre-facelift S13 front splitter on its way to me on a large ship coming from England, so hopefully will arrrive before the end of the month. Then for now all i have left to do is try and take this rusty beast off....

And replace it with a much more modern and cooler looking Tow strap.

Many thanks for reading, comments/critisism more than welcome.

Ben.

Small update - fitted the S13 front lip on saturday afternoon, under a lemon tree for the novelty of it! Its not a perfect fit and i\'m still not totally happy with how it looks on the wings up close, but it transforms the front end tremendously.

Public holiday here today and I\'ve had a few bits arrived that I deemed myself capable of fitting, they are some Re-amemiya leads and just some pulls hosing. I cleaned the leads all up before fitting from this...

To this...

Was a pointless graft mind as by the time they were fitted they were dirty again! Did them one at a time as not to mix them up, I\'m taking her out for a drive this afternoon so I\'ll soon know if I\'ve managed to mess something up!

And I did the headlight washer hose simply because I could...

Had some left over so I modified the overflow tank.

That is all... For now ;)

looking good :D

i took the cab out for a spin today ( first time since buying it ! )

But i defo need to get the dump valve taken off the JDM one and put onto the UK one - i miss the noise when you back off !! LOL

i think you need to get shut of the air box and get a nice cone filter in there ( again .. thats my next job aswell ! )

I have just purchased a cone filter, one I get it I will sort my own fitting kit and the custom airbox as suggested. I\'ve got the intercooler still to fit, the blitz ecu and need to remove the airpump and no doubt by the end of the year I\'ll have some more goodies to fit at well :)

Cheers Brett, never know this might mean that some progress is on the horizon!

Forget the cone filter, fit a ghetto air scoop and cut the top of the box open like me!!! Lol

Actually the cone filter is from an FD, so it won\'t fit wothout major ball ache, so yeah... I\'m back in the market.

Guess what guys.... I drove her today, filled the flat tyre with air and it seems fine now. Took her down the back roads of Limassol through moni, pareklisha and Pyrgos, the guy who lent me the jack was a fast ford fan and loved his old escort rs turbo\'s... Needless to say he was rather impressed by my retro rotary, it\'s quite amazing how smooth she still is at nearly 23 years old.

Love my FC, thanks to those who have offered assistance through this rather frustrating few months.
