Well I\'ve sold a set of wheels twice on ebay, first time round was a guy from france, ringing me up at 11pm at night (a couple of times) asking if he could collect in a few hours time...

The second disputed my description, I said that they were very good condition, with a few curb marks, Rota wheels at £200 when £670 new, if I\'d bought them, I\'d be really please....yet he says they needed a refurb, was insulting over text messages about it, so the dispute went through ebay, I gave the refund
(never worth fighting since buyer virtually always gets favour)
Now his feedback left-

\'\'17" Rota D2 alloys, Bad condition, this guy is a DICK... Dont buy of him !!!\'\'

Some negative feedback is one thing if you\'re really unhappy about the situation, but insulting!?

Is there any thing I can do?

well if the rest of the feedback you have is positive and that guy is the only negative, if anyone looks through your feedback and checks the item he is going on about, people will probably see that you havn\'t done anything wrong, I think there is also somewhere a seller can make a comment on some feedback, if you do just be professional about it and state that \'The item for sale was correctly described\' if he wasn\'t happy with the item then why did he bid lol

There is something where you can challenge or refer the feedback left if you think its unfair from memory!

I recently sold a kite for kite surfing for my nephew, clearly stated no postage, the first question from the winning bidder was, yep, you guessed it, can you post and when i said no, he got all chimpy threatening bad feedback, he was promptly told to collect asap or i would go down the non paying bidder! I make sure every add i place is "crystal clear" so i have the high ground in any dispute!

Just before xmas i sold one of my jetskis on ebay the 2nd time round! The winning bidder messaged me before as i said i wanted it collected within 5 days of auction end to check if it was ok to collect later! No problems, he made contact, asked the question and promptly picked up and paid in the new year, perfect ebayer really!

However, the first time listed, i had nothing but ridiculous questions, would i deliver, how many hours has it run although its impossible to tell, would i take "x" and when i said yes, nothing and the same person was bidding on it 2nd time round to the same price it was offered to them for!

You take your chances with ebay these days i think, be overly clear in your add so no one can leave bad feedback or ask too many questions! I very rarely even answer any questions on ebay these days on items i have for sale as all the info is there and the vast majority are just time wasters and i think its easy to spot these "idiots".

I had a buddy sell a old 325i BMW, the guy came all the way from Kent, viewed the car, drove it round the block, paid the money and then drove all the way back to Kent, where he then emailed, it was not described as listed and left bad feedback!!!! After viewing, driving and paying for it!!!!

The most annoying thing is you cant actually block people from bidding with say, lower than 10 feedback, only if they have 2 non paying bids or something like that!

And to your problem Charlie, if there were decent photos of the wheels present how can anyone challenge the description when they are viewable!

CharlieP

I think his game was to threaten bad feedback in the hope of me giving some money back to keep him sweet, so he gets some nice wheels very cheap

If you have issued full or partial refund how can he complain or leave bad feedback! Take it up with ebay dude! Or reply to his feedback which i am sure you can do!

CharlieP

I did, I disputed the feedback through ebay (not open on feedback section) thinking it went to ebay, but it just goes to him...which is pretty pointless lol

Insults via feedback are not on... I had one Spanish guy write that I was a thief and a **** because courier shipping to his house was over £100. I\'ve since changed accounts though.

Complain to eBay about him - they have a three strikes policy, so he should end up with a warning.

You did put in your advert to ask for more photos if required and a contact number, although it might be worth a slightly better photo or more than 1 photo in future

A good mate of mine had this happen to him with a car he sold, he left a reply to the buyers feedback which contained a profanity (something to do with chicken love :InLove) and use of the word that starts with a t and ends in t with w and an a in the middle. Self love pleasure words starting with a W will also suffice!!
Ebay then removed the whole feedback leaving him back on 100% and with no problems :rollin...............result!!

Yup, I reported it and ebay removed the text, so I\'m happy with that

CharlieP

Well.....

Now he has changed it, less abusive, but I only have the option to give positive feedback?! What gives!!

Why is he leaving negative feedback when he has been refunded, i just dont get that?
