Really how come? Am I going to need one to when I change my clutch? Never heard this mentioned before. Can someone explain please?!

If you are fitting a lightweight clutch it needs to have a couterweight, the OEM flywheel has one inbuilt, whereas the lightened flywheels need a couterweight. You only need a counterweight if you are fitting a lightweight flywheel and clutch like my ORC 709, if you are using an OEM flywheel you don\'t, as it has an inbuilt counterweight :) You need an FC auto counterweight and not an FD one as the rear counterweight balances out the front counterweight.

Thanks for clearing that up Mitch, I\'m fitting an Exedy six puck and lightened flywheel so I\'ll definitely need one! Any idea where I\'d be best trying to source the counter weight from as I\'ve never even seen an auto FC before!

Grinder has 2, one is broken :rolling

Ask Hayward Rotary or some of the bigger tuners, im sure they will be able to hook you up with one, its a part that they would have stock of due to the performance upgrades that are usually done when upping the power etc, did the kit not come with a weight?

sorry my bad >.<
i thought that flywheel was normal (not light weight) as the lightweight one on the orc i have is.. lighter lol (and has holes in the flywheel to reduce weight)

the exidy i got off ben few years back.. i didnt notice a counterweight on it.
2 doritos on a stick woohoo :rollin

It\'s ok dude I should have checked beforehand really, it\'ll get sorted soon :)

On another note, a picture my mate took outside the garage yesterday with the fail rear stance. We nipped to Greggs to get some food while we were waiting for the ramp to be free, came back and found some of the customers had come outside to take a look at it and get a few pictures :Giggle

Ali, can you drop me an email to adrian reed 27 at yahoo dot co dot uk (remove spaces and add the dots) about the bushes.

Cheers

I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

Get your finger out, get it on the road and start driving it then!!! (B.Martin 25/2/12)

Might have some good news regarding the counter weight, seems Mazda Rotary Parts have them in stock but I\'ve just given them a ring to check if it\'s for the Series 4 or 5 as I believe they\'re different? Just waiting to hear back from them now but I\'m hopeful it\'s the right one!

Edit: they\'ve just got back to me to say they\'re going to have to speak to Mazda directly as it seems they\'ve been discontinued...

Just fired you an email mate :)

Well still waiting on my counter weight (no pun intended) thanks to Mazda, got to thank Mazda Rotary Parts for being so helpful though so hopefully should have it in time for fitting at the weekend :D

Another pic from the other day, before it was pulled apart:

Thanks mate! It\'s on Kei Office coilovers and to be honest I haven\'t got a clue how much lower it is! A lot would be an accurate description though :cool

Ali, Just to keep you updated mate. I\'ve not heard back from my mate about the bushes. I texted him today but haven\'t heard back yet. I know he\'s busy working away from the workshop at the min though. Sorry for the delay mate.

Some pics of the parts that have gone on/going on:

SuperForma hubcentric spacers for the front (they were 25mm which in hindsight is a bit weak so they\'re going on the rear and I\'ll get some manlier ones for the front)

Exedy six-puck clutch which is in the process of being fitted:

And the cause of all my rage for the last week or two, counter weight for the flywheel! Massive thanks for Clive and Lisa from Mazdarotaryparts for tracking this down for me, hopefully it\'ll be installed tomorrow!

I\'m just praying it\'s the right one...!
