Is it illegal to call me "white trash" or "wigger" or "whitey" (or "chav" or "pikey" for that matter)? is that considered racist?

Is it okay to have black history month? Is it okay to have the mobos? Can you image an "all white" awards?

Notice how the Stephen Laurence case is getting so much press? Yet when a black kids stabs a white kid or another black kid no one raises an eyebrow.

Just a few things to think about before some in society start feeling all victimised over a little bit of name calling.

Sepp Blatter perennially comes out with a feed of complete horse manure from time to time.  For instance he once suggested that no games should end in a draw, which is mental other than in the knock-out stages of a cup and his attitude on video referees in just medieval.  However racism, in whatever form, is an abhorrent blight on society and should never be tolerated.  Blatter is either completely out of touch or trying to make light of a very serious and potentially damaging aspect of football.

Personally I think anyone found to be using racial abuse on the football pitch should be suspended indefinitely from the game and face criminal proceedings under the incitement to racial hatred act 2006.

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

Well the subject is gaining momentum in the news, however, its only the UK that is up in arms about his statement!

Whilst i dont condone Blaters comments or racism, as the man clearly is a T*T and seems to care more for the financial rewards than the game as a whole, laying all that aside, i find it curious as to why its always the Brits who are first to jump on the political correctness bandwagon!

Whilst again, i agree with the get Blatter out press bandwagon, where are the other countries in support in all of this, where were they when Russia got the vote for the world cup and more so The Arab Emirates, where were they when there was talks of bribes and corruption?

B.Martin

The world is corrupt as possible and as long as the people who make the decisions have there pockets filled nothing will be done. Regarding the PC bandwagon, well I won\'t input on this for fear of offending someone with my opinion and facing a ban.

You know, freedom of speech and all that -_-

You give the answer yourself buddy, the press!

The gutter press are responsible for what you hear and see on the news! Is it really news if a white kid stabs another or a black guys stabs another black dude, no, because in essence, apart from the families, friends etc involved, no one cares to be brutally honest and its not worthy of a story!

This is where the problem lies, its very very easy to play the racial hatred or racial crime card and i dont doubt, in some instances its probably true, i would say however, half the time or so its not the case, but we are in fact, enticed by the press to believe that all crimes white on black are racist!

Do i see any difference with calling someone black or n****r to white trash, ginger, baldy etc, no not at all. An old friend of mine was black and i can remember a few incidents where he was called a black >>>> or n******, he just laughed and said something like, wow, you worked that out for yourself, it completely took the wind out their sales and they were left speechless actually looking a t**t with no comeback!

So in my eyes, less hype about the word/words would actually see them dwindle from society as they are only offensive if you want them to be, food for thought there!

Agreed, but what do all the other footballing nations have to gain from a T*T being in control?

Actually i am going to add to this and it happens in so many areas of life.

Why is the governing body of footballers, run by footballers?
Why is the government run by business men as in essence thats what they are doing?
Why isnt F1 run by ex drivers?
ETC ETC

 .

The reason why the Stephen Laurence case is getting press was not for the actual crime itself, but the way it was mis-handled and investgated at the time by the Police , which shown the Police at the time (early 90s) was Institutionally (sp) racist , and the people who done it got off scott free at the time due to the Police mistakes and them not being bothered as it was just another black kid.

I remember Stephen Laurence case, due to him living just a few streets away from me, more or less the same age, moved in the same circles as me, actually walked on the same road he was killed on regularly, and I remember the white gangs that roamed that area.

At the end of the day we still live in a racist society due to our upbringing, not as bad as the past I give you that but it still exists.

And I think if you are honest with yourself each of us whether black or white we do habour racist feelings from time to time due to skin colour. I have suffered racism from English white people and black people, (due to me being of Italian blood) got it from both ends when growing up . But I had black and white firends as well.

Racism is wrong/illegal whether someone calls you a white honky or a black ni&&er or a rag head or pakk& it goes both ways

And football racism, cant talk about live football stadiums now, but I remember being a football steward in the 90s, the racist shouting that come from the terraces everytime a black player came on the pitch would make you hair stand on end.

I imagine its not as bad now
