Hi.

I\'ve just fitted a PowerFC, and the car runs and idles fine. However, the heat light comes on when the engine is started, and stays on.

Also, i\'ve only disconnected the four wires as advertised. However, there were two wires already disconnected - where can I find a pin guide to see what the two disconnected wires are?

Is the knock sensor bar reading high??? that light is a fault light !!
why did you disconnect wires all you do is just plug in and go (till uou get it mapped ) !!

Well I checked on the american site, (rx7club.com) and it states that you have to disconnect 4 wires to get stuff like the aircon to work? Surely that is still the case? Please don\'t tell me I have to go and reconnect the wires. The light stays on all the time, it just flashes when theres lots of knock.

I\'ve reconnected the wires now, and its still not made any difference. I reset the ecu, and now I can\'t get it to idle properly, whereas before it was perfect. Saying that mind, the aircon works better now :D

Have you been in the sensor check screen?

My heat light only flashes with excessive knock, perhaps you have a faulty sensor?

If it\'s a jap import, then you definitely didn\'t need to disconnect the wires, only our American cousins have to do that.

It flashes at around 3500rpm, and then above 5000rpm. If you see my other post, it says which sensors are on/activated, which may explain something.
I\'ve put the wires back in, and reset the ecu and now I can\'t get the idle to sort itself out, and the sensor check screen doesn\'t appear to have changed

I believe it can flash for two reasons, the first being excessive knock, which I get on trailing throttle for some bizarre reason. The second is due to high injector duty warning.

My datalogit allows me to change the threshold for the knock and injector warnings, but to have the light on permanently means something is very unhappy.

My money would still be on it detecting a fault with a solenoid or sensor.

Can\'t see your post about the sensor check screen, are any of them in reverse video?  I think that indicates a fault?

This is the post with regards to the sensors/switches screen http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=79488#post79488

I\'m pretty sure that the light being illuminated all the time is something to do with a sensor, but which one?

Looks to me like the FUEL value in reverse video is what is upsetting it.

Apparently its the fuel temperature sensor? Whats that when its at home, and whats the voltage on it supposed to be?

moakesr

Hmm,

Well some dude on rx7club used datalogit to change all the compensation values to 1.

Apparently it is somewhere on the fuel rail, presumably difficult to get to.

My datalogit manual says a fuel correction factor is applied if the fuel temp exceeds 60 degC. i.e. the correction factor changes from 1 to 1.02, so not very much.

Suspect it is going to be an annoyance, rather than a danger to your engine.

Attached diagram from EPC should help, although they seem to have named it as coolant sensor, which makes no sense in the fuel rail !!!

Cheers,

Richard
