to cut a long story short i have a 2008 transit that i use for work and i was involved in a 5 car pile up on the m5 in july being the last one in the accident i had the front end damaged on the van. it has already been repaired twice by the repairer the insurance told me to use and when it came back it had quite a few issues the main one being a damaged diesel pipe they didnt fix which sent me into a 4 wheel slide on a dual carriageway when it dropped diesel all over the wheels in damp conditions.
anyway they have agreed to get the faults sorted and i refused to let their repairer near it so took it to a ford main dealer whoe said the whole side of the van needed doing to get the colour right as its a metalic silver which is very difficult. unfortunatley the engineer/ins assessor disagrees with them and got them to change the qoute to only blend the repair into the front doors the same as has been done twice already. i already have the financial ombudsman involved with this as i am concerned regarding the colour match when i come to sell the van on next year. the insurance wont consider any photos i have taken today regarding the colour match which i think although its close stands out like a sore thumb the repairs have been to the front wings and front arch that sits under the door on each side the passenger side looks the worse side as they havent blended into the door at all. what im after here is some honest opinions is the colour match close enough?? or will people see the difference when i come to sell it. i will be after 8k ish for it so i would expect people to be through whith it.

what do you think????

there does seem to be a colour difference there, not sure if its my eyes going dodgy though, but no matter what, if the repair is not up to standard it should be fixed back to how the manufacturer sent it out, you wouldn\'t use a sub standard part on the engine, therefore you do not expect a substandard finish on the paint. You pay your insurance for a reason and that is to get the vehicle put back the way it was previous to the incident, no ifs, no buts, and if the insurance company won\'t do it, take it to trading standards.
