Quote from: Kenji;793143Tell me about it. No one really ever notices my car too :(

Anyone who doesn\'t notice a car like that doesn\'t deserve to have their not noticing noticed ;)

My car came with skirts n stuff and they had been blended into the bodywork. I immediately ripped it off and had the bodywork put back to stock.

I am assuming when you are all saying that your cars don\'t get attention you\'re all talking about car shows n stuff where anything remotely tasteful tends to blend in the background a bit. My car is near stock to look at (lower, nice wheels, de spoilered, street diffuser which I decided to keep after much internal debate) but out on the road amongst the abhorrently bland gaggles of modern car puke it attracts an inordinate amount of attention. Nice attention at that, the sort you would get in a TVR or something, which is very different to the smirking, condescending attention you get if you\'ve covered your car in fibreglass tat. Other drivers necks crane, girlies smile and try to see who\'s driving (whilst trying to look like they\'re not looking), kids jump up and down and wave and teens stand open mouthed pointing it out to their girlfriends \'cos one day they\'re gona av one innit\'.

I think the reason it is well received is because it looks like an enthusiasts sports car and not a \'modified\' car, and it must be the same reason people who know nothing about cars think, even when they notice the cars age, it\'s worth several times more than it is!

Once an FD \'looks\' modified it looks cheap. Fact.

There are haters of course, there will always be haters. If no one undeservedly hates you for something then you are probably not doing very well at life.

All IMO of course, but I am right ;)

Its always kept everything interesting because nobody really owns the same car. The number of mods and the ingenuity of members really shows just how cool these cars really are.

Mine always blends into the crowd at shows, but its by the by.

Quote from: JPMatt;793266Hi guys,
Loads of really nice cars on here thanks for the amount of replies. It has been bought to my attention by Nik that he has been messed about in the past by the old editorial side of the Magazine and for that I am truly sorry. I will be completely honest with you and say that if we approach anyone with regard to a feature we will go through with what we propose but sadly that couldn\'t be said for the previous team. We have taken the magazine forward in the past 10mths and have definitely upped the quality of the content as well as the editorial so it would be worthless if we are judged on the mistakes that have been made by others in the past. If you haven\'t seen the new mag then please pop your head into WhSmith and let us know what you think of the new setup. With regard to your car Nik I have mailed you and hopefully this has resolved the animosity that you quite rightly felt. See you in Guildford on the 6th Nov!

Nice to see a reply like that Matt. Hopefully your new team will treat future     car owners more professionally. It does take a heck of a lot of effort getting a car \'just right\' for a photo shoot, knowing that many people will be looking at your car.  I can easily imagine the amount of work Nik would have put in to make sure his car was spot on for the day and then to be let down after all that would be very annoying.

May I suggest you also pop over to Exile-rotorsport.com and have a look at some of the classy oldschool Mazdas on there. Some pretty fantastic cars that you might like to do some features on :yes

re japi

Yes, these days, "performance cars" usually are those witch look fast. Unfortunatly. :( What happened to sleepers? And RX-7 is so fast at the track anyways, they dont need bodykits.

As i said before, this club has so many awesome cars and builders. I imagine that it would be difficult to pic few to feature in magazine. So i suggest that they would do a article about MRC! :)
Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Not for me it\'s not completed yet and any way I do it for me and not for some one to make money out of something I have done may be if some of the mags money went to a good cause then I might think a bout :Snoring well then again no thanks. :)

How comes I can find this thread on my phone but it\'s fallen on the radar when I search for it on my PC?

Anyway let\'s not forget about the 8\'s here we may not be as quick in a straight line as the FD boys but we can hold our own on the right tracks
Turbocharged 192ps RX-8 running Meth Injection on an Adaptronic
Fully Bridgeported 231ps RX-8 stripped for the Track
2nd Gen RX-7 TurboII on a GT35r (show winner)

If you wanna see 8\'s look in autotrader, thousands of em :D
