Get your finger out, get it on the road and start driving it then!!! (B.Martin 25/2/12)

Ah I know dude :( The thing with the Japspeed Impreza was just unbelieveable, literally like watching a film. Totally enraging.

Im really chuffed that he\'s got it back :)

Its becoming more common though, do these people not think to fit a decent imobilizer? I know if i\'d poured £1000\'s into a car i\'d spend a few £100 on decent security, it can\'t weigh that much :Giggle

the S14a Still had all of the door locks, central locking, NATS AND a battery cutoff - Doesnt stop a pikey with a hi-ab...

The japspeed impreza was sat on the club stand with the battery disconnected - two thieving scrotes, bold as brass walked over to it, lifted the bonnet, reconnected it, jumped in a literally just drove it out of the main gate. All under the speed limit, casual as you like.

I believe that the above incident has led to BDC now being closed paddock :(

Its all fun and games until someone looses a drift car.

Isnt that just the way, you wouldnt think twice if you saw that incident, unless you knew the owner!

- Fezcat -

Thats the thing, no one did think twice..

Many years back (15+) a good friend of my mine was a bit of a rogue, i shall say no more, he always said if they wanted to steal a car, regardless of alarms etc they would! An alarm was only ever a deterrent, if they saw a car with an alarm they knew some where up the road there would be one without and if there wasnt, they would go back, easily by pass the alarm and take the car! More often than not, they were as bold as brass about it!

I bet there is not one person on here who has called the police because they heard a car alarm.

We wouldnt respond to a car alarm if its just heard - unless there was either a sound of breaking glass (sus circs) preceeding it or the person calling it in can  see someone breaking into said car :)

True, I\'ve never called in a car alarm going off, mainly because I (and many people) tend to have a good nosey old gorp out the window to see if anything interesting\'s happening. So far, never seen a thief, just cats jumping on cars with twitchy alarms etc, but if I saw anything sus I\'d call it in, otherwise you get moaned at for wasting police time.

nah you wouldnt, we\'re not allowed to be rude to "customers" We\'d take the job and say "ooh thankyou" and send it to the area radio operator for info - but we dont have to

Any audble alarm calls not from an alarm company are closed unless something dodgy has been seen - we usually do our best to find a keyholder for the premises though.

To me car alarms are often quite deceptive! They work perfectly when a cat or a mouse hit/touch the car, but when an actual thief tries with the car, they tend to experience suffocation lollllll!

Surely imobilizers are a bit more tricky? My FC has one and even i can\'t get it to turn off sometimes and i have the plug in bit for it :Giggle
