Been talking to a guy today who has a 2000 reg FD RX7 from Japan (with the super rare rims) its very nice. I mentioned to him i was going to be changing the fuel pump on my FC for a walbro 225 eventually, he told me i could have his stock FD fuel pump for a good price. I then asked him if the stock FD one was actually better than a stock FC one, as i have no idea...

He said to me that the late spec FD fuel pump is better than pre \'99 spec fuel pump and would be worth uprating as its good for over 300BHP. Does this sound right? And is it worth buying this off him or just getting a walbro 225?

Also, will an FD fuel pump fit on my FC?

Opinions and facts please people :3Confused

The FD pump is definitely an upgrade on the stock FC pump - and will no doubt be newer too - which helps - but the Walbro still flows more than either - and if you get the right kit it\'s a drop in replacement - the FD pump may require a tiny bit of twiddling to fit.

I have both FC and FD fuel assemblies, it seems that the hard pipes and connectors are the same, the differences are the lid and the FD pump retainer is slightly thinner (but can be modded to fit an FC assembly)

I would personally buy a new or hardly used pump, the FD pump will flow more, but will still be fairly old, I swapped mine out as soon as I could due to the OEM pump having been in there for almost 2 decades - probably a bit tired!

At well it\'s food for thought, an I can get probably most of the parts I need from a freind pretty cheap. I get the impression this pump hasn\'t been used that much, the guy offering it has a very high powered FD!!! Thanks for all the info.
