I got a this gd pro twin plate clutch as mine just couldn\'t hold the power and was shagged. Booked it in a local garage for convenience but has just been a nightmare had to go to a machine shop and then source a counter weight thought finally this was it but there was another problem it now won\'t go in gear when the engine is switched on. It just don\'t disengage the only way to change gear is to get the revs right or turn the engine off put it in gear and then turn it back on lol. There is also a rasping noise now I\'m gonna whip it out myself Saturday as it\'s not exactly drivable. Does anyone know what it could be or anything I should look for. Any advice at all would be very much appreciated. Many thanks

Could be a number of things... do you get the noise when the clutch is fully depressed?

Can you engage the other gears freely?

Sounds like the clutch release bearing to me or the the way they\'ve installed it isn\'t letting the clutch fully disengage. So you\'re trying to change gear whilst the engine is still delivering torque to the box, not good.

With my ORC twin plate clutch the biting point it right on the floor, the ORC kit comes with an extended slave cylinder rod (which I havnt\' got) so I would think it would be a case of not being to physically disengage the clutch due to the pedel not being able to push the clutch far enough. Im guessing they fitted the push pull coverter ok?

Also if the clutch does fully disengage the plates should rattle like a bag of spanners lol

Well Martin is gonna have a look for a release bearing and arm for me tomoz with a bit of luck so hopefully that\'s it.  And Brett it won\'t go in any gear unless the engine is switched off :(.

Well it\'s a hks one which is under licence by exedy so suppose to be able to be a straight swap for the standard. That\'s what the bloke recons it needs maybe an extended cylinder rod but where would I get one of them?

Yeah, with some of stiffer clutches they\'ll adapt the slave or the actuator rod which throws the release bearing out and disengages the clutch.

Sounds to me as if they\'ve either forgotten or not fitted a part in there. If it drives fine in gear with the clutch fully engaged then all working ok and it\'s transmitting the torque fine.

I have found one for HKS clutches:

Would work fine on other though I guess as its just put into the slave cylinder, I might just add an extra section onto my OEM one between the OEM rod and the socket it goes into to make it slightly longer

and I just found an adjustable ORC one for my 709 clutch:
