Am i right in thinking these guys are now no longer part of Mazda again?
First went there before there they became a Mazda dealer with my old rx. Then when i got my new rx was going to take it to the just for engine health check but found out they were a Mazda dealer and so i didn\'t go.

Even though the old people stayed i don\'t like dealers they often charge more due to it being a main dealer.

Anyways there one of the few close rx specialists near me and if there independent ill prob drop down.

Just want the engine checked and reset all the idles ect.

Don\'t know where you\'re getting your info from, but Rotechnics haven\'t been a Mazda dealer for as long as I\'ve had a rexx - 2002.  They\'ve always been indepedant Mazda specialists working on Rotaries and Mx-5\'s specifically.

Ok well when i got my new.rex went to find them and they were up for sale and they were bought out by Mazda as they had a big reopen day there and when i looked them up on the website it was a Mazda main dealer website but was def the right garage ect.

Was a thing on ether here or rx7club about it all.

Yer was in 2008 they were in trouble was a post on this site. 2009 they reopened. Sure i looked it up and they were a Mazda main dealer.

says it was being bought out by Mazda and im sure i did look it up and it was a Mazda main dealer sight.

Its all good if it isn\'t and sorry for any confusion caused. As im all for independent specialists.

You might find that they are owned under the umbrella of Mazda, but are still operating as an independant?

I think it was bit of a joint open day with Mazda, as there were quite a few classic Mazdas there, as a mini museum

Speedline Imports

I think there was interest from both Mazda main dealers and independents but Gary Rotary Art took it over unless im mistaken?

Many years ago Simon the founder of Rotechnicks who I am happy to say I knew, sadly died told me that when the Mazda dealership in Basingstoke road Reading closed he was aproached by Mazda to for Rotechniks to "maybe" become a dealership, however he told me that as Mazda were not at the time selling Rotarys and that because his formost love was Rotary he would not have a showroom full of piston cars. (this was pre RX-8)

Also at one stage Simon asked to become a "Rotary" rebuild center for Mazda but this too never happened.

Sadly after Simon died the Rotechniks company collapsed and many other companys were offered continuation of Rotechniks including myself, all of which declined including one of the brothers of T.W. Whites which is a Mazda dealership.
All the best Clive

In 2009 when there was an opening day, this was when Gary (RotaryArt) bought the business, and he is still working as an independant rotary specialist and nothing to do with Mazda UK.
Also has a few things up his sleave and provides a very good service ;)
