New member questions

Hi all, new to the forum, just got my first RX7, an FD3S, its been my dream car for years and I absolutely love it. I just have a couple of initial queries about the car. I cant find the answers in searches, and sorry if it\'s in the wrong section.

Firstly when I get in the car put the key in, I get a \'beep beep pause beep beep\' repeats  maybe 4 or 5 times, evan once the engine is running... is this normal or is she telling me something? no warning lights on, and turbo timer off.

Backfiring or popping exhaust when flooring it, usually on release of the accelerator, and changing gear. Only happens occasionally but is it normal for these cars, or is there something not right?

Also what workshop repair manuals are there, any download links?
I\'ve done my homework but any other beginner advice would be nice.

welcome m8 and yes popping and flames for exhaust is normal with fd3s and mine bleeps when i first put ignition on

And you didnt search very well... Try the sticky in General Technical with the manuals, can\'t miss it

For the other question you should list your upgrades, or your FD is stock?

also my car does the flames, when the exhaust  is free I think it\'s normal
But if excessive you may have problems with internal combustion, sometimes caused simply by the old spark plugs. Change the spark plugs and try again

She is near stock, just has a kaki cat back and apexi induction from what I can see.

Flames are fine and very cool, these ladies do run rich. I genuinely set a mates trousers on fire at a car show a few years back when he got too close. Wait \'til you go for a pitch black night time blast and you see the countryside glow orange

much easier to do without a cat. mine does it on the overrun all the time. give her some revs, back off the throttle and listen to the soundtrack!
