As the title says really.

Does anybody have any experience with the Turbo-II versus the EGI block from the FC?

Since an EGI exhaust manifold is like gold dust, and the one for the EGI from racing beat is a true-dual system which means I\'d have to replace 90% of my exhaust at the cost of nearly a grand, I was wondering about fitting a smallish turbo to it, purely because the whole setup of small turbo, intakes, etc (second hand) comes to less than the cost of what it would take to replace the EGI header with a new system.

So I was wondering if anybody knows whether or not (the air-pip for the 6th port actuator excluded) a Turbo-II exhaust manifold would bolt up directly to an EGI block, or if not, what modifications / adapter plates would be required and how much they are.

Thank you :)

you would be better off just sourcing a complete turbo II engine.  You could get a rotten car quite cheply, then transplant everything you need (fuel pump, engine clutch, gearbox, ecu, rad, i/cooler, etc etc.  The egi doesnt like being turbo\'d, its higher compression, and you need to sort out an ecu.  If you use the who turbo II set up you have a minimum of 250 bhp.

You can turbo the egi but for the work its just not worth it.
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

Just port the n/a engine and run it on ITB\'s :Giggle

turbo will foul on the actuators,, you will need a spacer or a custom manifold

or you need modded t2 inlet manifolds
,, the face casting pockets filled with weld, refaced  and cut back to 6P pattern
-which amounts to no actuators,, but there is a trick to stage the TB to amount to boost only secondaries/aux ports to bring back the bottom end

all this will require a custom programmable ECU
i definately do not recommend the stock NA or turbo ecus in these applications of  hicomp rotors with boost

and ,, the results can be worth the effort,, done well they will provide a wider usable power band than the extendy or stock t2
( though not as peaky in the middle as the extendy, and not as sharp down low as the stocky  )

i have been making 6p hybrid and extendy turbo engines since last century and my pref is for the hybrid 6p engine

That\'s the sort of idea I was going for! :)

It\'s a shame that the turbo would foul on the actuators :(
