So - because I had to replace the siezed brake calipers - it seemed a no brainer to do the front braided lines - done the rears - and needed some tweaking to get them to fit - so I pre tested the middle joint where the brake line anchors to the shock/spring assembly - fitted fine.

Thinking it was all plain sailing - I found 2 issues with these:

1) The length of thread that goes into the caliper is pretty long - almost an inch in old money (2.5cm for you metric boys and girls) and they supply 2 copper washers - one for each side - so I assumed that the nut should sit flush with the caliper housing - no chance - got about 8mm of thread into the caliper and then it\'s home - so the copper washer is useless. What kind of fitment are these for??

2) So aside from the caliper fitment issue, I then found that the top end of the braided line doesn\'t quite go into the bracket in the wheel arch to meet with the hardline - boooger - this is pretty much the same ball ache I had with the rears - only a different bracket that time - so out with the 90 degree drill attachment and a grinding stone and bored the hole out - voila - fitment achieved.

So for braided lines that are supposed to be direct replacements for the flexi rubber and hardline pieces - these have been sadly way off base !!

Question to anyone who\'s done a braided line swap - did you have these issues ?

If not - what brake lines did you get ?

Anyone else have a problem with fitment ?

PS apologise for title - wrong spelling of brake - me tired and all wined up now :( :)

You will probably find that the Goodrich lines fit fine on my FC as nothing on my OEM car is OEM spec it seems lol

When I do mine I\'ll update you! I\'ve had some Goodrich (2nd hand) lines lying around for a month or 2 now. Need a willing volunteer to be my partner in crime bleeding them though.

Not much help to you but I fitted Goodridge hoses to my FD today and they fitted fine.

I suspect you may not have noticed that the fitting is NOT a hexagon shape - one edge has a curve so it has to be fitted a specific way around.
