Been replacing the front suspension components, except springs and shocks, as I had an advisory on the passenger side ball joing.

As those with Series 5 cars (Turbo II) may be aware, replacing the ball means replacing the arm, so I\'ve been cleaning up the spares ones I got from Pete and getting new bearings pressed into the hubs.

All going well so I thought - but then the usual FC nonsense starts:

1)  Both calipers siezed - both inner pistons - so had to source some spares of these.

2) Got some inner and outer tie rods - to replace these too - and the thread lengths seems different.  So I\'ve now got some serous toe inn and need to shim the thread which was longer than the stockers on the end that screws into the rack.  I\'d just wasted 4 boot bands learning how to fit them properly and have 2 perfectly fitted bands - but they now need to come off :(:(

Why is every job on these cars such a pain in the butt.

Not looking forward to doing the exhaust...

Sucks when stuff like that happens!  But it\'s these things that show our devotion to the gods of rotary performance.

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

My OEM seats had been modded at the factory to fit my OEM seat mounting holes and my OEM turbo studs are about 45 degrees different to other FCs, at least you have a spare car to work with!

I\'ll say it because no one else has had the balls so far \'this is why we love the FC3S\' :Giggle

We\'ll get it sorted! :D

Sucks huh?

Still, at least you\'ve learnt what the problem is!

Ps, can you email me a price for a roof, AND a drivers door (since you\'ve not using your spare are you?) that doesn\'t have any dents, bent corners or anything wrong with it. Likkle scratches and faded paint are OK!
