Hi, I have a Sony Xplod CDX-GT2010 in my FD, front speakers are standard & I have the Bose acoustic system in the boot, when i turn the radio/cd up to 20+ on the volume the head unit turns off then back on again & will repeat this cycle if its not turned down.

I have had a look at the wiring diagram & the wiring on the back of the head unit & it all seems to be in order however there are 3 extra wires comming off the connector that plugs into the back of the head unit,

1 orange with white line through it, This is then connected to the power cable of the boost gauge so im assuming this is some sort of power source?
but the red cable & yellow cables are there which should be the power according to the wiring diagram (the red one is joined to power the electronic valve controller).

A Dark blue with white stripe which is labeled amp.

A light blue labeld ATT both are not connected to anything

Could the head unit be cutting out because the power is been taken by the boos gauge & EVC?

Any help much appreciated

One of your speaker cables is earthing. As you increase the volume the power spikes tripping the reset trigger in your head unit. Remove your door cars and check, move on from there onto the door connectors, they usually all green from corrosion

Cheers rx7boy, ive checked drivers side which is fine, couldnt check passenger side because its parked up against wall in garage & the batterys gone dead but i did notice that the speaker in the passenegers door sometimes cuts out so im assuming this is for the same reason?

Any idea about the 2 cables not connected? Is there some type of amp built in with the bose system that im not gettin use of?

The earth was connected to another earth cable that was connected to metal behind the head unit, I took this off & connected it directly to metal but still no difference

could be clipping out try unpluging a speaker at a time then turn the volume up on each one to see if it still happens

Finally got access to passenger side speaker, it had a acoustic box around the speaker but it was not connected, someone had connected the speaker directly to the connection bypassing the bose system.

Tried the bose connection but it didnt seem to be working, i cleaned the connections & connected it back up to the bypass cable & it seems to have resolved the problem

Cheers for the help

i havge this sma eprob on my fc turn it up to more than 25+ but drive the car its fine no engine running and it starts again all speakers are aftermaket wired directly to the stereo only the earth and power wires are part of the origonal system. but if i add a bike battery in the front i can turn it up to 28 (battery is in the boot with uprated power wires to the front and directly conected to he origonal power earth wires.
