hey peeps, i was just wondering how hard it is to fit a 20b engine into my rx7 and how expensive it will be? thanks

turbointhebrain

Easier to fit in an fc than an fd

BlitzBoy

On a FD if doing it properly and redoing the subframe to mount it further back and all the mods associated ,powerplant frame, custom prop, ECU,manifold, ignition, turbo etc etc you will be looking at spending the thick wedge of 15 to 20K

Lots of people have been asking about 3 and 4 rotor motors lately.
Is a shame the cost is so huge

Thats right Blitz...

you are looking at 20k, only if the engine is done right on the first time round. In my case, I never blew the tip, but other things spoiled my engine once... Now I know how important it is to use the right builder and mapper, otherwise your 20b would make you go bank corrupt. :D

Because there\'s a truck load more room.Hurley (don\'t sling tomatoes folks - they did a good job on this one) did a 20b in an FC - http://www.hurleyrotary.com/page.php?currentpageref=6274I wouldn\'t worry about going N/A unless you specifically want no Turbo or want to go PP or hybrid PP with standard ports - very nice and does about 450BHP and used a motorbike manifold for the tertiary (PP) throttle bodies.http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_forum/showthread.php?t=12767However, you\'re best/cheapest bet is to find a built engine that\'s street ported and run in, and take it to reworx or whoever your preferred tuner is and have them fit and remap it - probably cheaper too.  You won\'t lose any of your existing fab work, and all the electricals etc can just go straight on the new block.

Only gripe I can give about that conversion is that the air filter is waaaay too small.
