re japi

Nice vid :) What was your top speed in that long "back" straight?

I liked that track, lots of height differenses and nice "double" curves.:)
Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Thx - I was only just getting into 3 figures at the end of the back straight - I saw 105mph on one glance down before braking. It\'s quite uphill there and the 8 really needs more power in that portion of the circuit as it\'s really struggling to gain speed up the hill in 4th. It\'s the part of the circuit where many turboed or lighter weight cars pull away, only to be caught again in later corners, unless they are good drivers in the corners (Zarterone being one :god in his Megane RS250 Cup).

Yep, still trying to decide if Cadwell or Oulton is my favourite in the UK. Cadwell really is a fantastic circuit to drive - it has a bit of everything. I really love going back there, this being my 4th visit.

A vid of my quickest lap of the day - just a second behind Malcolm :Thumbs-up

There\'s a lot of wind noise because the camera is externally mounted so I\'ve deliberately reduced the volume - the video has also been rotated to correct for the mounting (upside down!)

Yep - just after Park on my cooldown lap I was overtaken by a white FD, caught it on the key fob cam :D

Truly a shame that it didn\'t work on your car first time :burnout

Nice video Jim! Though we won\'t be doing this with Kimi...

The camera I was using was an H808 #11, which produces a true 720p high def video output and records for about 45 minutes. You can get them on ebay for about 25 quid and you\'ll have to make sure they produce H.264 (Bluray) output. For a bit more outlay you can get one with a slightly different case design that has a larger battery.

I\'ve now got a second one of these ready to go :D

^^^ Jason, I think Ian plans to use both cameras (front and rear view, etc)?:cool

:Thumbs-upExcellent video Jim, thanks for posting that up, nice to hear a see a circuit from an FC perspective!

Seeing the quality and price of the vids that Ian posted up I\'ve just ordered one of the "#11 keyfob" cameras via eBay, £26.99 delivered, but might take a few weeks to arrive (in time for Oulton Park though!).

Jim  are you "on" for Oulton Park on Friday 22nd July? I think you said you were when we spoke at Cadwell, but just wantde to check. Thread is up ON THIS LINK

Edit - Jim, I see you\'ve paid for your place already - you\'ve beaten me to it!
