At the weekend Lisa and myself went to Lalystad  in the Netherlands for the first ever Rotarystock event held for not only Mazda’s but lots of other Rotary makes, after all they have supported our Rotorstock event for many years which became evident with all the wonderful enthusiasts we met up with again who all made us very very welcome from the time we arrived till the time we left :D

Shame that no other people came from the UK as the event was amazing due to the variety of Rotary cars and bikes plus some really special cars in the shape of an R100 a Mazda Rotary Matra, a Luce Royal  Classic from the late 80’s which was a JDM Turbo 2 powered that I didn’t even know Mazda made to name but a few of the special machines on show.

As you will see from the pics below there was an amazing amount of Gen 1’s on show including one green one from Austria that the owner is taking on the trip of a lifetime with an overland trip back to Japan !

Really pleased to say that cruising for a vast amount of the time at 75mph, the RX-4 performed great across the 700 or so miles we covered even though the trip there was heavy rain all the way.

We detoured through Antwerp Belgium to visit Kees who has been coming over to Rotorstock since number 2 and many of you would have seen his wide body FD or Gen 1 with trailer over the years.

I wanted to see his Mazda “depot” that I had heard so much of over the years and as you will see from the pictures Kees is a huge fan with the Mazda dealership and his store of Mazda’s just down the road complete with an old racecar Gen 1 on the roof of the workshop !!

I hope you enjoy the many pictures below with the last being the RX-4 on board the shuttle under the channel which must be the first RX-4 that’s been on board out of the millions of cars it has seen, mind you it was tough getting past the customs check, as they just wanted to know what the car was !

I would like to think that seeing the pictures below more will come along next time as this really was a great event and thanks go to  all who helped put this together,  :Thumbs-up

Some very nice pictures there Clive. 700 miles, I think I would have to trailer the rx4 there when it\'s done as with the current price of fuel would cost close to £700 in fuel alone. Lol

Whoever did the parking if the car in the first picture needs a medal

Some lovely cars - our Dutch cousins are doing us proud :cheers:cheers

My work weekends have not fallen well this year :(

Missed 2 shows already.

What is that gold coloured car in the 2nd batch of photos?

It\'s a Matra Simca now Mazda powered and just like Ferrari and later Mclaren, it has three (tiny) seats in the front

Awesome pics, Clive thanks for sharing. Some unbelievably rare stuff in there. Apart form the Luce I spot what must be the last Citroen Birotor alive, and a DKW bike. As well as a couple of Norton Commanders and what looks like it started as an Interpol. Some lovely 1st gens in there, too. Awesomes :D
