Sorry to hear you have problems
:(
Has the V mount just been fitted and do you have gurgling noises when you turn off ?
All the best Clive

Did the water rise really quickly and straight away and were the bubbles violent, or was it quite slow and took a long time? The former is bad, the latter not necessarily. Did the bubbles ever clear, or keep coming up no matter how long you ran it?

v mount been fitted for a while now and i started it up and there was big bubbles coming up and when the engine got hot the water started to rise in the bottle still big bubbles were coming out, tonight i put some vaseline around the ast cap went for a run was fine driving but as soon as i stopped at traffic lights the temps when up to 112.
checked ast tank when back home and there was wet vaseline over the tank , so i thinking i need a new 1 where can i get a new one from.

Try the thermostat on my last rex it was opening but only a little bit, fitted a new one and all was sound, cheep fix to try anyway.

i put a new stat in it last year but ill try anything a moment and cant find any ast caps on ebay where can i get a new 1 from or will a fc one do the job

Clive at Mazda Rotary Parts has caps in stock usually. You want the 0.9 bar one, not 1.3.

You can get alloy ASTs from various places, Newera or RHD Japan will import you an Amemiya or similar one for probably a good hundred quid. Or WGT always used to do their own alloy upgrade for a lot less (and nearer)

adib

ok thanks ill have a look there

Or try Jit or Martin at Speedline, they may have a stock one from a breaker that\'ll at least let you troubleshoot yours. Admittedly, stock ones are all timebombs...

thanks nik will try cap if that dont work, think ill scrap it, had it 7 years with no problems so its done well as i drive it every day to work
