guys need to sort out this pressure issue
until today digital gauge read normal pressures until you started to rev then dropped standard gauge never moved much just up and down a little between a quater an under half which made me think it was digital dial wrong.
today the standard dial seemed to move more freely up and down but when revved followed the digital dial down which now makes me think oil pump probs. lowest reading when revving 24 psi highest 55 when off the gas.
need to know is this killing the engine before going on track and what problem might be.
it\'s running 1.1 bar single turbo 400bhp
thanks for your replies in advance

i heard it could be a pressure release valve blocked or the spring broken in the oil pump anyone think thats possible

rx7danny

so sent of to super 7 autos in henfield
i will update you but jason said he has not seen this before
sounds like it could cost

rx7danny

Pitty nobody could help, my oil pressure dosent rise at all, but the engines lasted 4 drift days so would like to know what could be causing the bad reading myself too.
Hope you get some good answers anyway man, and not sting you a fortune

Standard gauge is rubbish get it checked not difficult to do
Cheaper than blown engine

leefitz

Nobody near me works at these cars. Plus I\'m in England and the cars in Ireland :/  don\'t know how to check the gauge.  Don\'t know where to start with going for an aftermarket one or otherwise.

update
oil pressure fixed and it was a crushed sump
gasket repaired but crack in turbo manifold
have to release engine of mounts and push to oneside to remove turbo again
nightmare
intercooler and radiator on tomorrow back on saturday
empty pockets

leefitz

Happy days for the cars, crappy days for the pocket :S  do you know the reason as to how the crushed sump stopped the oil pressure? How much was it even crushed?

not seen sump yet but i think someone jacked car oni caving it in leaving the resovoir for the oil with far less capacity so oil pressure ok whe low revs but when engine needed more oil flow not enogh in sump

leefitz

Aaa, I see. How hard is it change the sump in a standard engine? Never mind one that\'s lowered 30 odd millimetres  :S something tells me that\'s not so handy
