Hi there

got one of these to put on my car, does anyone know if I\'ll need bonnet pins or not?

this one doesn\'t seem to have any, but most vented bonnets do.

cheers

I put bonnets pins on my c/f bonnet as when I was travelling at high speeds ; ) the bonnet actually started flexing.

The bonnet pins stop it doing this.

I have that bonnet and it does have the std catch but its only resin fixed as its carbon. At high speed it was lifting quite a bit so i put bonnet pins on. Its much better now.

cheers, my one isn\'t actually cf, looks like I\'ll fit the pins anyway. They just look horrible though

Get some good bonnet pins then. I got some good ones from demon tweeks

Aerocatches FTW :Thumbs-up. Flush mount and nice and unobtrusive. You really don\'t want the latch to fail and to take your nice shiny FEED bonnet in the windscreen at "motorway speeds"! Especially given what a flimsy bit of bacofoil an FD roof is

If it is an aftermarket copy then you can never be sure how well the centre catch is fitted to the bonnet.

If you have somehting like a C West nose on, it will let a lot more air in than stock and the bonnet will flex at the sides. Over 70mph my standard aly bonnet would flex either side so that you could get your fist in between it and the wings (if you were sitting on the bonnet at the time :D).

The C West bumper lets in so much air and my bonnet was not vented - the bonnet pins either side took car of all of that.

I\'d not run any FRP or Carbon bonnet without the pins. Which is a shame, as they always ruin a good bonnet :(
