hi guys im going to be looking at building a new gauge pod for the fc like the red colour but would just like to update the car a bit going to put flush headlihgts on and prob a new front bumper just to give it a newer look as the fc dont look to dated

as all the warnings are in a seperate pod the fc is a perfect candidate to do this too,

im going to use the auto guage with stepper motors and warnings with red back light

the prob i have come down to is the fuel guage cant really find any aftermarket ones dosnt need to be in the same place as the others i could mout it somewhere elts as the car is used then filled up and i never let it get below 1/4 tank just be nice to have a matching gauge, if not would it be posable to hard wire the fuel sender wires into say a water tem gauge or something so instead of being at say 130 and 0 for water temp it was 130 full tank 0 empty?

Save your money keep your stock fuel gauge if it works, all you really need is boost, water temp, oil pressure maybe oil temp and a wideband 02 sensor if you plan on going fast.
I removed the heater vent and made a 3 gauge pod to fit in its place, only fits the smaller 52mm gauges but it\'s good enough doesn\'t block anything and makes for easy viewing.

going to get rid ov my intire gauage pod and make a new one with moden gauges yer my plan was if i couldnt find an aftermarket guage then ill just adapt the stock guage to fit the now pod i was going to make.

Make sure you get a mechanical boost guage and not a stepper motor one, also oil temp is more useful than water temp - but perhaps get both :)

yer was going to get mechanical boost as there more accurate than electronic but i have a electronice boost controler but want a guage in the dash.

list of gauges going to get
mechanical boost
oil temp (know when its hot and can have fun)
oil pressure (know if i have a prob)
water temp (always good)
rev counter to 9-10k
speedometer
and if there is room air fuel mix ratio (but there a bit of a prob coz there always up and down)

Air/fuel is definatly needed, although you will know when the engine goes lean on boost as there is a noise and you see bits of apex seal out the exhaust :D

If you\'re getting AFR, tehre\'s no point in getting one that takes a feed from the stock sensor, you need a widebander.

There\'s no issue with a good, well made electrical boost gauge like a Defi - it\'s the cheap sh!t like Prosport/Autogauge/Whatever they\'re being sold on eBay as this week  that give them a bad name :)

Other than that I\'d say you\'ve listed pretty much all you need :)
I\'d try and choose ones with warnings - they\'re bloody useful.

I have a STACK wideband O2 kit, it has the Bosch sensor and STACK guage :) its a standalone system and is pretty good :

yer the prob with defi gauges there like £90 for the gauge then you need to get the wire harness separate then the control box i did use to have a set but i got so fed up with having to spend silly money for what at the end of the day will be glanced at from time to time.

yer going to use ones that have ajustable warnings and can both ether flash red or beep and also come with a low warning too.

the gausges are about £60 each but with he features it will be worth it as also going to conect them to the stock warning buzzer.
