i know its been covered, its a noob question and ive searched it to death, but it just keeps showing very recent posts with boost spike just mentioned.

ive just put an exhaust on, kept the cat, but have not got a boost gauge or apexi fc + commander; so just wanted to keep an eye out for/be aware of what to look for/feel regarding boost spike just incase.

thankings you for any help :3gears-rh

Boost spike is when you make mods such as you have done and the engine over boost\'s,if it goes to high then you can run lean.
A sure sign that you have overdone it is when the car under boost abrptly stops for a second almost throwing you through the windscreen, that is boost cut when the ecu say\'s it has seriously over boosted and temporarily cuts fuel.
Be careful when modding exhaust and inlet as your engine maybe running lean with stock ecu and can pop the engine.

thanks for the reply, yes im aware of the issues with adding mods without changing the ecu, but from what ive read, the general idea is if i keep the cat it should be ok??? hopefullly :) i am still running standard airbox and filter to.

so if i did happen to get boost spike, it would be a serious jolt and easily recognisable??  or could it just be a dip in boost which might be hard to notice?
i know i should be getting a boost gauge !

im used to a 200sx so the twin turbo feel throws me a bit.

Some cars with cats still do it and still run lean so be careful.

Usually but not exclusively a filter kit and back bax are the most you can do without issues.
Just have noticed on some that even a back box can over boost.
